hey guys i am planning on getting a cat-back for the sunfire .. i am wondering what the pasesetter catback sounds like on cavs, sunfires? i want to order the catback off turbo tech racing . its saying that this catback already has an built in resanator soo will i need a converter also? or no? i have a obx 4-2-1 header already and not installed onto the car. i never heard this catback on no j-bodys before soo i am not sure .. does anyone have this catback on there car? or already did? or know a guy/girl that own this system ?

please let me know.

thanks

chris

I ordered mine with a header (full exhaust) and I had to intall a 23 inch resonator to keep from getting exhaust tickets , but mine didn't come with a resonator.

If your installing a full exhaust like it sounds, I would put a new cat on it, either way, you want to have a cat on there. I put a magnaflow on mine.

It sounds prett much like any other loud sinfire, but the tone is low enough to sound OK. I actually like it myself.

What happens if you don't use a catalytic converter? other than getting tickets. performance wise, maybe wear something out?

It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble an automobile, and one nut to scatter it all over the road

not sure performance wise, possible slight increase in power but i doubt it is anything substantial but I can tell you your exhaust is gonna sound like @!#$....the cat helps to reduce the horrible tin can, raspy noise heard on many ricers.

I had a Pacesetter catback exhaust on 01 Sunfire..Didnt come with a resonator..I got sick of the snowmobile-fart sound and put a dual Hedmann resonator exhaust tip on it and it sounded a little better. The Hedmann exhaust tip started to rust and it looked like crap. So,I chopped off the pacesetter muffler added a Edelbrock SDT muffler,Magnaflow dual tip,and a HushPower II resonator.I had to take the auto console out and drill a hole down to add a exhaust hanger.Sounds awsome. Some resonators are heavy. The paint on the pacesetter catback exhaust pipe has been holding up pretty good. From what Ive read on here cherry bomb it.

cherry bomb is a big no no. i have them personally, and had nothing but problems with mine. maybe i just had a bad experiance. if you wanna make it sound deeper, get a truck resonator

Get all the parts you need in a pile, and drive the car into it.
They will find their way into the correct places.
