I was playing with the desktop dyno for about a month trying different cam duration, lifts and centerlines.
It seems like for my build these specs give me the best torque to hp ratio and keep it below 6500 rpms.
center line intake 111 exhaust 103
duration intake 225 exhaust .215
intake lift .415 exhaust .400
I dont want to rev much more then 6500 becuase I dont want to kill my lower end power. these really climb fast after about 3000 rpms to about 5500 for torque and from 3000 to about 6000 rpms for peak hp.
I called crower today I think I spoke to dave. He said we could go to about 420 lift with a .980 bind but we may need lash caps. So the manta part stiffened springs that i have should be safe for these cams I hope. I know the centerline is a bit backwords from traditional cams but like I said I'm not looking for peak rpm hp. Please feel free to leave your opinions or if you have any reason to believe why these wouldnt work please feel free to tell me why.
I have theorized for a long while now that the larger intake cam will give a broader flatter torque curve
For my daily driver am strongly considering using my HO intake cam and LO exhaust cam just for this reason.
I got a call from colt cams today. he said he may beable to give me a nice grind from my secret cams. If I remember correct I think he said he might beable to go as high as .415 and 219 for the intake. I cant remember what he told me for the exhaust he can go but I'm pulling them out today and i'm gonna send them to him in the morning. We'll just have to wait and see hot this turns out I hope it works well.
