Hey everyone, I know, I know, search first then ask. I, however, am on a short timeframe. I got back from training for the Army to find that my wife hadn't checked the oil in my car the entire time I was gone. I called her twice to tell her to get the oil changed and apparently she never did. Needless to say my car had a wounded motor now, making a horrible sound anytime its running. My cousin is a BMW mechanic and took a look and said that he is almost positive its not an easy fix. I am trying to source another motor. Unfortunately it is a Z24 and those motors are harder to find when needed. I live near St Louis, MO. Now the best part. I have to pack my stuff up and get ready to leave. I have to report to Fort Bragg North Carolina on the 22nd of this month. My cousin is going to take the care to his place and start the removal of the motor that is in there now. I have a slew of questions:
1. Can a 2.2 be put in there in place of a 2.4 relatively easy?
2. Anyone got a 2.4 they don't need preferably in running condition so I have my cousin put it in and then when I come back home in a week I can hopefully turn around and drive it back out to North Carolina.
3. Anyone willing to throw me a decent offer for a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 Convertible. If I can't get it fixed I might have to sell it to get something else to make it out to North Carolina.
Thanks for your time.
Hopefully I can get this fixed soon. Would really love to tool around the North Carolina beaches in my convertible.
Thanks
Rob.
