Eco/LD9 Intake Manifold Feeler
Wednesday, July 22, 2009 2:30 PM
I'm trying to gauge if there's any interest in an aftermarket intake manifold for the ecotecs. Mark at OEM will be making them and is in the process of making the prototype. He's going to be doing some dyno pulls to see some real numbers of what the manifold can do once it's completed.

If there's enough interest and a GP starts, the pricing will be $500 for 1-5, $450 for 5+. Anodizing will be an extra $60.
All manifolds come with velocity stacks and are fully TIG welded.

Here's some pics of where he's at right now:

Is anodizing necessary for meth injection?

You could powder coat it. Works wonders

What advantage will this mani have over the LE5 mani swap? Unless you are offering extra injector bungs?

jmarks82: This could definitely be offered with a powdercoat option, too. I'll throw up what that would cost once I get with Mark.

oldskool: this manifold would offer the ability to flow more air than the LE5 can. Also, extra injector bungs can be welded on. Anything can be done...I'll get some pricing up for what extra set of bungs would cost once I talk to Mark.

SO hardcore: I'm sure something can definitely be worked out, it's just welding the flange on the other way. PM me or Mark and we'll talk with you about it.

So it's geared more towards turbo applications? Doesn't the LE5 mani flow enough for 99% of the n/a applications out there?

This is definitely more turbo oriented. For those few who are looking to hit around 275-300+hp n/a this would be something to consider, but the majority of n/a builds this isn't needed.

no offense but i think OEM is being way to out stretched.

Ok, some updates on these:

Powdercoat will be special order only.
Each manifold will come with 1-3, 1/4"-1/2", non-threaded vac ports (purchaser specifies), after that there will be a small charge for each.
Threaded ports will be a small charge also, along with anything larger than 1/2".
TB plates will be standard for a style (as yet undecided which TB will be standard on each), different plates will be a little extra.
The intake flange can be o-ringed for a little extra also.

He is still working on the LD9 one pictured up above. After that is completed and tested, he will be working on the eco mani.

If you're interested in these, please put your name below along with which manifold you are interested in and which TB:
Example: 1. LoudCav, ECO, LS1

Whitecavy: He's gonna have one done here in the near future for the LD9 as the first one is going on his car...so shouldn't be too much longer. The Eco mani will be another couple months before it's ready.

for the LD9... how does this compare to the HO Mani with phenolic spacer for WHP/WTQ Gains
