The car i bought had a 3A "racing" muffler on it,and when it gets over say 4 grand it sounds like a rice burner.I hate it so i took it over and i get the same weedwacker sound.
Any idea what is causing it? I figure if i go header back i'll get rid of it,but i don't feel like spending that much just yet.

it makes the same noise with or without the muffler on it...i thought cutting it off would help..
i could put a diff resonator in there and the muffler..but that seems like it would be quiter than stock.
btw i dont have the stock muffler.

Sounds like you bought a fart can. Buy a muffler that, oh, I don't know, MUFFLES.

Get a real muffler. One that doesn't resemble a coffee can. If it still sounds bad after that add a resonator.

no glasspack is necessary, it might even make things sound worse lol
just dynomax super turbo in whatever in/out configuration you want that fits

next time your at a auto parts store, look at the flow charts on the box.
I have no doubt that the only reason I only ran a 14.6 with my 95 NA car was because of that "nomaster" muffler I had.
