Stock Lower Mount Replacement?
Thursday, April 01, 2010 2:47 PM
I replaced the lower engine mount with one from RKsport and added the Upper Insert. The only problem is the vibrations. I knew there would be more from searching but it's getting annoying explaining to friends that my car isn't about to fall apart.

My question is where is the best place to find a stock lower mount replacement? From what I've read, it won't hurt to leave the upper mount in, please correct me if I'm wrong

I would get over what your friends say and keep it if you like it.

I think I have a good stock one somewhere, I found like 3 or 4 when I was moving. I'll pm if I find one.

Just pay shipping and it's all good.

If the mounts are brand new, give them a little time to settle in.

I have Rk sport upper and lower mounts, and I hardly notice the vibrations anymore. It could be from always having the radio on, or due to the fact I dont run with a muffler, BUT, just give them time, and you wont hardly notice them anymore.

This is true what Borderlin3 says. It will get slightly better, but still very present.

PM me. i have a stock lower dog bone I'll sell for 15 shipped. It has like 25k miles on it.

That said, it will be much easier to get one form a junk yard.

Also get a set of the Prothan tranny mount bushing, this will help with the vibration alot..And it will make the shifting feel alot smoother..

Actually you are right, as many will state, it is best to have ALL poly mounts. When you just have 1 poly mount and the rest stock, you will have more vibs. Get all poly mounts, install, wait about a month and enjoy...

I agree with Aaron and jason. I had just the TTR upper and lower mounts and had a decent vibration. Finally got around to installing the tranny mounts and it actually feels better than it did with the stock mounts(they were bad of course.)

I replaced the lower mount with the rksport mount and put inserts in the two trans mounts. I am waiting on the rksport upper to come in, but the vibrations are not much different from the stock mounts even with them being brand new. I guess the trans mount inserts made that much of a difference, but the motor doesn't tweak when I stomp the gas at all from what I can tell now compared to what it was.
