I've heard it's better bc heat destroys the stock style plug wires on the LD9. The IDI cover guts I mean. Also, I've heard you'll be able to gap the spark plugs at normal gap if you're boosted and have the upgrade. I think there may be advantages having it plus a MSD DIS-2 box. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

The OP does not have a LD9, but a 2200.
Even with upgraded coils plug gapped on a boosted motor needs to be adjusted smaller.

Any gains for n/a's with bolt ons?
Oh...2.2 huh. You'll need more than coil upgrades lol. Bolt on a turbo

There's much arguement over which are the choice to go with... But from what I've heard, Accels & GM-replacements are the ones; in that order.
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
Most you'll probably notice is that the engine runs a bit smoother. Depending on it's running condition right now. Won't be seeing any power gains though.
i find it amusing that SHOoff has nothing better to do but follow me around & be an unhelpful dick in even cross-forum. - Jon Mick

Lol, no turbo. Just bolt-ons for now. If I really wanted to get crazy with it I'd put in an 02 Z28 motor in it with a RWD swap lol. But I've got two project cars that have priority over the Cavy.

based on this statement here...why not just leave the cavalier alone and continue to DD ( which i assume your doing ) and focus on the other Project cars
