does anyone actually have this set-up on their ride?? or is everyone just riding the FAQ train here? Tociko sells this as a kit, so it cant be miss matched, can it?

I wouldn't necessarily call the struts junk. I have no personal experience with them, but they are considered to be on par with KYB GR-2's. That being said, is it a great setup? No. Will it work? Probably. You may find the ride to be a little bouncy and the struts may have a decreased service life. If you are looking to improve the look of your car and sacrifice a little ride quality they will probably work just fine. If it were me, I would continue to save my money and buy an adjustable strut like KYB AGX's and pair them with your spring of choice (<1.6" drop).

correct. i never had the setup but it doesnt mean i dont know anything about the struts. the tokico hp series (or "blue" as their known) are the same as kyb gr2 struts. both are oem replacements and should not be used a lowering strut. i know tokico sells this as a whole but i still wouldnt do it. the chances of blowing the struts are great, then your stuck paying for new struts, new alignment and wasting time swapping everything out again.
