how about freshly surfaced stock rotors, hawk hps pads and ss brake lines? This would be well within your budget and after going from stock to not, I can say the difference is very pleasing. A good pad goes a long way IMO, and splits the difference between a full rotor/caliper upgrade and stock brakes.

someone on here just did a conversion from a lumina. dual piston calipers, larger and thicker rotors on a modified spindle.

He made a post, and has the kit for sale in the classifieds.

Save yourself some money, especially if you're not going to be doing any racing. Hawk HPS+Powerslot+Stainless braided hoses. You'll be amazed at how much nicer that stops (and how much better your pedal feel is).

After that, hit up the Neon rear disc conversion as seen in the stickies and I think you'll have spent your money much wiser than if you go straight for the big brake upgrade. Not saying that it isn't nice, but I just don't see how it's necessary on what sounds like mostly a DD. Show/Race car? sure. Daily Driver? Not so much really. Extra nice if you've got the dough, but I wouldn't make it a priority.

Although W-Bodies do have decent front brakes compared to the J, so that would be a very reasonably priced upgrade, but I don't know what the availability of upgraded parts are for them.

Sleeper style, they don't see it coming that way.

That sticky is for a J-body. That is exactly what you'd need to do on your car.

Yes on both occasions. Read through the stickies, they'll explain the whole thing.
