i got a 96 sunfire gt 5 speed i'm swaping in a 02 alero motor what do i got to change to make it work ?

you gotta drill and tap the knock sensor hole larger
use the rest of the stuff from the 96 motor , intake exhaust egr injectorsand fuel rail
you can do it.. i just put a 99 alero 2.4 in my 99 z24. i didnt do it though i had a shop do it cause im too lazy.
99 motor in a 99 car is a direct swap...00+ and 96 motors aren't identical. Eric nailed it about the knock sensor...easily done, but not direct bolt up
Let me flip this question around real quick. I've got a 2.4 out of a 97 and I want to put it into my 02. I'll be replacing the ECU with the engine (since I'm taking out a 2200), so does any of this apply? Since I'm getting the computer and transmission out of the same car I'm getting the engine, I should be able to just bolt it all in, right?
I may not be the sharpest crayon in the box, but at least I'm a pretty color
