SUGGESTED AMP FROM THOSE WHO KNOW WHAT THEYRE DOIN

Which amp do you guys suggest I use with 2 12" pioneer subwoofers? Their max is 1200Watts and 600 normal. I have a cheap amp on it right now and it heats up quick so I think i need a new one. So any suggestions would be good.

If you are worried about heat. Have a look at a class D amplifier for your subs. They are very efficient and most that have dealt with don't produce a lot of heat with extensive use.

I personally have a JL 500/1 and it only gets "warm" to the touch after hours of abuse. Unlike my old amp I have used such as the US 2000x I had (a class AB) you could burn your self on the thing if you played it for a few hours on a road trip.

MTX makes a decent class D amplifier as well as many other companies. The new pioneer amps aren't bad either if you are looking for something less expensive.

But which ever amp you decide on make sure it is a Class D amplifier.

how can you suggest anything without knowing what he needs? he might need an amp that does full power at 2 ohms instead of 1

I just picked up a couple of coustic 1200s amps. 600 RMS bridged at 4 ohms. Quite large in size but I think they will do the job. I have 2 CF1244 coustic subs I'm going to run and when ever I find them at a good price I'll be running some Polk Momo Carbon compenent. I think this coustic is nice stuff. Then price was alright too. I think you can pick up one of these amps for like under $400.00. I bought a package price the speakers in a sealed box and the amp for just over $600.00 together!!
