how to set my eq for best sq results

I have a JVC KD-LH1000 here, 2 Clarion DVC flat pistion 10's in a sealed box here of the box here, with an older 1000 watt clarion monoblock amp heres the amp. rear speakers are Clarion 6 x 9's 180 watts, here 2-4" 140 watt with a 3/4" tweeter here

I am wondering where to set all my levels.... as i'm a newb and dunno too much about eq.

to give you a breif description there are three settings under my eq, low, mid, and high, and each of those has 6 settings above flat and six settings below flat, and then theres differenent settings within each of those... and then you can make the "mountains" thin or fat?? hope someone knows what i'm talking about... i have my subs hooked up. positive to positive to positive, negative to negative to negative,

now to think about it.. is there a level that my amp should be set at as well?

I also noticed a difference between one burnt song and another.. is there a way to fix all of this when i burn cd's? to make all the songs run on the same freq's? I use nero for a burning program.

I am also getting a 1 Farad dragster cap if that makes n e difference, and i already have a red top optima battery.....

I am also looking to upgrade my deck to something clarion, any suggestions?

someone give me some advice... thanks

when you set an eq...and don't have access to an RTA or a shop that has one..then you just have to do it by ear.

set all the levels to "flat" and start at the beginning. raise it all the way up, then all the way down..then listen to where it sounds the best as you adjust it from back and forth. go through each one doing this. then after your done. do it again.
