I'm installin my gauges and im goin to be usin the switched pink wire in the steerin column, but my question is what is this pink wire actually for? I'm just wonderin that this wire is used for in the dash. one more question, i got a vaccum gauge and it came with the hose and a t fittin, what hose in the engine bay should i hook this up too?

I believe the pink wire goes to the cruise if you have it. The vacuum gauge should hook between the FPR and the intake on the engine.
i thought the obnoxious pink wire was reserved for the air bag
There's quite a few pink wires in the car... you'll have to specify which pink wire you're talking about
the pink wire in the steerin column that everyone says to hook your gauges too. Got a picuter of the vaccum line anyone? and 2 of the gauges have orange wires and the schims say they are to hook up to a "headlamp" 12V other source and connect to 12v lighting, im guessin this means the head light switch, right? Why would only 2 of them need ot be lite up tho? the 2 that have it is Vaccum and Oil Pressure. Their tinted gauges so u'd think they would need t be light all the time.

well theres only one pink wire in the steering column and its the primary ignition wire and you shouldn't directly tap to that unless you have a alarm to wire a remote start of starter kill, if you have the 98 sunfire then its like mine it has 2 ignition wires pink and white, tap to your fuse in the fuse box for those guages, the direct ign line has a lot of power and can spike as well as send a lot of ripples through your audio system, like a hum in your stereo.
