im fiber glassing a box for a single 12 rockford fosgate p3 and have made my mold to the corner of the trunk and i am about to cut the wood dowels and im wonder do i take the dowels out after a couple layers of glass or just leave them in the box
I don't use dowels.
Just cut a single 2x4 to length, angle the ends how you like, and screw it directly to your foundation mold, then screw your ring to the 2x4.
After you are done glassing, all you need to do is remove the screws from the back of the mold, and pop out the 2x4 when you cut out your ring for your sub.

i like that idea.. is always such a balancing act getting my rings to sit up on the dowels while the glue dries
if you do use dowels, as long as they don't interfere with anything like the sub or wires, then I don't see a problem leaving them in the box
leaving the dowwels in is only going to strengthen your enclosure.
Usually what I do when making a box is make 4 wood peices to angel/hold up the ring. Then use hot glue to put them where needed. After the peice is dry/last layer of resin then remove the wood peices they should pop right out with little force. Hope this helps

he's saying he starts at one side and wraps it around, ends up with a ton of bunched up fabric that can't be stretched.
Sometimes you can't start at one side, and work in one direction. You may need to wrap it a few times without attaching the fabric, and see what the best way to attack it will be.
