okay so i went out and bought the cheap combo deal from best buy " Insignia " Subs and Amp well they bumped for awhile until now, everytime i power up my system the amp light turns green like it wants to stay on then BAM ! right to Red Protect W/O blowing any fuses why is that ? can i fix this myself
ya take it back and get your money back
You blew out a channel on the amp itself, I had a rockford p200.2 running to clarion 12's and it just cooked both left sides out, everytime you turned the system on it would suck hard then go into protect mode. If it ends up you blew the channels you might as well melt it down and make an ashtray. If you are shopping around i suggest a kenwood KAC-8152D Class D Amp, best amp I've ever had, its a monoblock but with two paralelle channels for extra bumpin!
its done...how long ago you bought it....you only got 30 days to get your money back. Maybe you cant work something out...tell them to devo it and swap it you'll buy the "PSP" and pay the difference for something better if anything...or ask for a discount if it was only like 40 days or so....i work at BB but you dont know that

If it wasnt that long bitch and moan they might do something for you....GL
Yea if you buy cheapo equipment, Its not gonna last, Also If youre running an on youre subs, U might want to adjust youre bass control down to -2 or -3, Its wize to keep youre loudness control off, Thats a killer on the amp & also youre speakers,

Never buy anything from Best Buy, find a local audio stereo shop
You really have to be carefull with those Best Buy Guys, I have an Infinity amp powering my subs, the problem is that the peak power is correct for my subs but the rms is around half of what it should be and I didn't notice when I bought it, now the amp overheats when it's turned up, and I have to replace a new $250 amp, plus it's a 4-channel bridged into 2 and thats not really a good Idea. My old amp I bought from darkstarts was a cheapo the blew a couple channels and was doing the same thing yours is. I'd personally go with an Alpine amp, there really good amps and I've never had any problems with them. I'm saving up for an Alpine 400rms 900 peak by 2 channel amp, wich will probably cost close to 4 hundred but I know I won't have any problems with it.
Aww buying from a mega store can be good. I wouldn't recommened BB only because I install at Circuit City. Just remember if you buy cheap crap it's goona go out no matter where you get it. At least at a meag store you can buy warrenty. Plus most small shops will tell you the peak is the rms and screw you if it blows. But I can't speak for all CC though. We're good about telling you if what you're buyingis crap and what the rms is. Make sure you have the subs wired correctly before junking it. If you have it running at a lower impedance than what it can handle it will go intp Pro mode. Also if one of the subs are blown it might do it also. But it's prolly just blown amp.
