Okay, next problem... Does anyone know (for sure) which year j-body alternator pigtail plug fits in the female port on the right of this pic? It has rounded edges (versus rectangular, with 4 identical, evenly spaced flat prongs).
My 95 plug is on the left... It has the rectangular outside with the squarish cutout and 3 identical small prongs with a larger, wide flat prong.
I bought the alt off of a guy here on the org who was pretty sure that it would bolt up to a 95 and -- my luck of course -- it doesn't...
We are thinking a 2000 pigtail might fit? Can anyone verify this?

I think the round plug is for 96 and up. My 98 is round like on that alt.

Okay, I picked up a plug off of a 99 that fits the alternator from a salvage yard, but those year J's all seem to have 2 wires coming from the ECU! My 95 has 3-wires...
I can adapt the plug, I know, but how do I find out what the wires from my current harness do in comparasion to what the alt plugs are supposed to do? I've tried looking through some wiring diagrams and am coming up empty... Keep in mind that the alt DOES FIT a 99. It was apparently rebuilt for that year (now I'm told).
Can anyone help??
