MA audio makes good stuff. To get the good Audiobahns you have to pay a lot and get either the immortals, eternals, or the piston series. The only problem with the audiobahns is that they take a ridiculous amount of power. I personally go with some kicker compvr 12"s
JL's are way over priced.
I have the 15" natural sound Audiobahn sub(entry level). It is powered by a 500 watt Crunch amp. It hits hard and has lasted for about 9 months so far.
A lot of people do not like Audiobahn because they are inexpensive, though I think they are awesom for the price. I do not get what people mean by rediculous power since my 15 is loud at high volumes and still sounds good at a bit lower.
To be frank, I had a friend who had 2 12" Polk MOMO subs, then 3 12" Alpine Type R, and finally 2 12" Inifinity Kappa Perects, all were in some sort of sealed box and powerd by about 1000-15000 watts. I like the sound of my Audiobahn much better. It hits low real well and has a cleaner sound than ANY of those setups.
I recommend Audiobahn.
I have had 2 12" 1200watt MA Audio subs and amp and I must say that those things hit SO friggin hard haha... I couldn't find anyone with a louder system than i had..and that's probably why it got stolen lol .. oh well
but yeah ma audio is a good company to work with.

my first subs i had were low end ma audio's ,sounded good, im sure the newer model subs sound sweet!
Go Audiobahn

But yes, Audiobahn subs typically require a GOOD chunk of power to perform excellent (and you won't be disappointed). I've never used MA though.
my MA's beat so HARD, i have the competiton subs. i wouldn't buy anything but MA Audio subs
HERES A PIC

you get what you pay for. i'd have to pick ma over audiobahn. talking to guys i know in the business, audiobahn has had allot of product failures and ive heard allot of talk they can't handle the power they claim. though i do think allot of this is because of the bling factor they get allot of kids purchasing them that dont nessicarily know anything about how to properly setup a safe system. i do love their marketing department though. thevy's certainly done right in that department. as for ma. i havnt really head anything bad about them. i dont think they are the greatest out there, but i feel the do what they set out to do.
as for jl being overpriced i gotta disagree highly with that remark, allot of their speakers are extremely high end speakers that sound very accurate and are built with high quality. its like corvettes and cavaliers, both will get u to the same place but that doesnt mean they should be the same price.

Aparently no one can tell the difference between "pounding hard" and subs that actually sound good. Audiobahns pound hard.... sound good, not really.

The subs I have... considering they are for spl, sound pretty nice when I put them in a non-burp box.
A MA 15" X2 and 12" X2 next to a Audiobahn 2003 model Immortal 15", I just dont like the new immortals.... Visit my page for more pics.

Yeah my JL's costed me a bit of coin to get but they are worth it. Although i am massively underpowering them. they still work well. Never tried MA, but i need a bigger amp....

Not a very good comparison. Sure, JL is made well, but why buy a $120,000 Porsche when a $60,000 Corvette is just as good if not better?
I have heard first hand Kappa Perfects, Type R's, and MOMO's and none of them had the rich, clean sound I have from my Audiobahn. And I can certainly vouch they handle their RMS rating since I have 500 watts RMS going to my 500 watt RMS subwoofer.
One thing on here is when people say RE is better and cheaper than JL, but you get what you pay for. It has been said that kids who do not know much about car audio go for the cheaper subs or as much "show" as possible so Audiobahn fullfills that. And since they do not know much, if anything, the gains get set too high and "Oh, they can not handle the RMS raiting."
again its your opinion that the corvette is as good as the porche, but to allot of people there really isnt a comparison. for allot of people out there they cant hear the diffrence from one brand to the other. others of us out there can hear a major diffrence, just like in spl. to some people spending 200$ just to get another .5 dbs is a complete waste of money, but to the hardcore competitor that .5 db could mean the diffrence between walking home empty handed, or taking home a trophy at finals.
im sure you have heard those speaker and they didnt sound nearly as good. i had heard and seen jl's in a couple dozen cars and i wasnt impressed at all, until i got into a certain car where they were installed in the way they should be. and they sounded great. installlation has as much if not more to do with the sound then the name on the basket. as far as the power handling issue i'm just going by what allot of the industry people are telling me, these are the guys that are running the stores and dealing with sending the products back, im not basing my information on one kid down the street who blew his subs.
as far as re's versu jl's you have two completly diffrent companies, you have one company that has been around for a long time, and has products all across the country, versus a relatively new company that only has product in a handfull of stores. allot less overhead when your only supplying a couple stores and selling directly to the interenet. its just like anything else. it would cost me allot more to be serving thousands of distributers versus just shipping them directly to the customer from my facilities.

I understand where your comming from. My friend's subs were all in prefabbed sealed enclosures. My Audiobahn is in a 3/4" Oak Sealed box I made myself.
It is just that everyone makes it sound like price is the only factor to take into consideration of what is good or is not. Now I know in electronics price is a good indicator of quality, but from my experience my entry level Audiobahn sounds better than 3 supposedly better subs.
It is just that I believe, for the money, Audiobahn makes a good product that lives up to how they advertise it. Unless by sheer chance I have one of the "good" ones, they seem to work fine.
^^ ditto. I've yet to have any of my Audiobahn equipment fail (well, I ripped the RCAs out of an amp that came loose once, but I can't really blame them for that one lol). But, It's definately one of those debates with no winner ever.
Audiobahns Take ALot of Power Right
So how would 2 12" 's ALUM12Q's do wiht a power acoustik 3000 watt amp that runs at the watts listed below....
Thes subs are rated 1000 watts RMS......
1100@4 ohms
1800@2 ohms
2300@1 ohms
