Just wondering if there is a difference in AF gauges?
i see autometer makes one that comes with a bosch 02 sensor...(7378 nv is the model number)
then there is an innovative kit that comes with a LC1 controller, and the XD-16 gauge, and also a bosch O2 sensor....
I know automete is a great company and a big name... but heard alot of good things about the innovative stuff.
just curious what you need a "controller" for on a wideband O2 sensor and gauge, autometer doenst seem to have one, but innovative does....
both seem to allow you to connect a laptop for tuning and monitoring.
which kit do you suggest? or do you have others you prefer?

All wideband sensors require controller curcuitry to analyze the AFR/lamda. The autometer one most likely has the circuitry built into the gauge itself (if no external box) The autometer also seems to have some interesting features, but I've never heard of any J-body owner use it. Personally, I went with a controller that can upgrade to the NGK wideband sensor whenever I decide to turbocharge. The only two controllers I know of that can do that are the NGK powerdex and the PLX controllers (I'm sure there are others though)... but the innovate and autometer widebands certainly are still great choices.

what is so great about the NGK sensors? what makes them better than the bosch that everyone else uses?

NGK sensors cost about twice as much as the Bosch sensors. They are more resistant to damage by heat. They are also a more accurate sensor. DSM guys will run them practically right next to their turbines opposed to requiring it be placed much further downstream. I don't think they are any better at preventing damage from water though.

I was on the waiting list for the Autometer wideband kit ( to match the rest of my gauges ), but I couldn't wait that long so I picked up a Innovate wideband from Karo. I have had zero problems with it

It's Innovate, not Innovative... You can use the innovate LC-1 straight to a dyno with one connection. I'm not sure how the autometer works in that respect. The LC-1 can also use any AF gauge you want if you don't go with the XD-16 package. You can also hook up the Innovate to a laptop and log A-F ratios through their software, but IMO it's fairly useless compared to what it can be used for in HPTuners etc...
Why don't you try searching for this information, I see at least 6-7 posts from you asking for info that almost everyone else in this forum has already gone through, so I'm sure you'll be able to find lots of information in previous posts.

The AEM UEGO is also really good. I have had no problems with mine.
