Ignition problems?

Hey everyone just picked up an 84 fiero 2m4 and was wondering if u guys had had any suggestions as to why I cannot turn the ignition key foward but I can turn it backwards
2 accesory. I was told the ignition was just fixed. Also this maybe irrelivant but the steering wheel locking mechanism pin is broken. can anyone help thx in advance and will post pics soon.

have you tried pulling the key out a little and trying different positions in the cylinder (not like that)? sometimes keys arent made perfectly, so they may start or end early. it's easier to turn it backwards than forwards. or pull in/out on the cylinder itself. that's what my buick did. im one of three people that can sart the car because it takes getting the key in just the right place.

If the steering lock pin is broken, it's probably jamming the ignition lock. Remember, they are interconnected: if the ignition is in one position, the wheel is locked, and it's hard to turn the key when you get back in your car. So presumably if your wheel lock is broken, then it will be permanently "hard" to turn the key. Make sense?

still tryimg to figure it out its not just hard 2 turn I cannot turn it forward. thx 2 all those who have replies
