Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn announced an "unprecedented product offensive" to launch 26 new models by 2009, The AP reported.
He plans a push into luxury vehicles, starting with a new Laguna sedan next year, and he plans for Renault and its Korean subsidiary, Renault Samsung Motors, to make their first sport-utility and other four-wheel-drive vehicles. But he ruled out any attempt to enter the North American market before 2009.
We are so missing out on this. Renault has some badass products in their portfolio, and thanks to them, look at what Nissan is spitting out lately.
Why don't we get French cars here? My guess it is politcs. Either way I'd sport a French car in heart beat... Peogeot, Renault, Citroen.

I agree, French cars are tits.

"i promise we won't get drunk, and go out in boat in the dark, stand up in the boat and fire the gun into the air unless we have life jackets on."
They used to sell Peuogot and Renault cars here, in the 80's I think. I guess they didn't sell so they stopped selling them here. When I was a kid my parents friend had a Renault Alliance, it was a piece of crap.
Goodwrench remember the Renault/AMC fiasco? People say GM has a bad legacy to outgrow, Renault has a worse one to outgrow here in NA.
True Spike.
But AMC basically killed Renault as we know it. Remember how Renault was eventually becoming Eagle? It was a different era for sure.
But with the cars that France has, I have no doubt it will be a instant hit here. They 're stylish, modern engineered, extreamly safe, well made and some are Rally bred. If these car are not winners, then I don't know what is.
