Partnership between Toyota and General Motors is ending next month, but GM and Toyota officials including former Toyota President Fujio Cho and GM's head of research, Larry Burns have said since last year that both sides are talking about possible collaboration in technology.
Toyota and GM signed a five-year deal in 1999 to work together in technology, and that was extended for two years on April 1, 2004. Another extension is unlikely when the agreement expires at the end of March.
Among the joint projects between the two auto giants was research hydrogen fuel cells and hybrids. However, beyond a lot of talking and the initial handshake the deal has produced little else.

i wonder...does this mean they're going to pull the plug on the Vibe, since it's a Toyota vehicle?

Yeah but some stuff for the Prism is made by Toyota for GM and is unique to the Prism.
Some stuff can interchange.

This involves future colaboration as in sharing technology and model products. This does not involve dicontinuation of parts.
In other word, the next Vibe may not be Toyota based or the next GM with a "full" hybrid system; Toyota will not have a hand on it.

Why would anything happen to the G6. Not one part on the G6 has to do with Toyota. G6 is all GM. Its the vibe that is a toyota.

If you're talking about the Pontiac G6 and Toyota Camry Solara. There is nothing that they share.
What Toyota may use is some Delco products i.e. battery or alternator or something like that.

***Update--Deal was made***
GM, Toyota agree to extend advanced technology collaboration and focus on safety-related technologies
DETROIT – General Motors Corp. and Toyota Motor Corp. have agreed to extend their advanced technology collaboration agreement two more years with a focus on safety and congestion-related technologies, and industry codes and standards.
The agreement covers information exchange and collaborative research in areas such as well-to-wheels energy usage and emissions, intelligent transportation systems and connected vehicle (vehicle infrastructure integration and vehicle-to-vehicle communications). The agreement also allows for research projects in other areas the companies identify as mutually beneficial.
The GM-Toyota collaboration, which began in 1999 and would have expired at the end of this month, will be extended to March 31, 2008.

They share absolutely nothing. All models of the G6 (sedan, coupe, convertible) are built on GM's Epsilon platform, the same platform that the Malibu, Saab 9-3, a couple of Opel cars, and the upcoming Saturn Aura are built on. Looks can be deceiving, eh?

Nope, NUMMI (New United Motor Manufacturing Inc) is a GM/Toyota partnership. You can read more about the plant at their site,
