Hey I have a friend who is having a short circuit problem in his 95 Sierra. The truck has a hard time starting after its sitting for a couple of hours and the battery is new. I'm thinking its a short circuit but i'm not sure if this would be a good troubleshooting method:
Pull a fuse from something that does get power with the key out of the igntion ex. interior lights, repeat until you find the circuit responsible and then take it from there.
Am i right?
I'm not sure if you meant to put this in, but after you pull a fuse, you can use a multimeter to find which circuit is drawing current.
You say hard time starting, but no real detail. I'm assuming by the rest of the post you refer to an electrical issue. And it's with the engine warm, right? Have you checked the starter motor? Hot starts can be difficult if the starter is going bad and I'd start there first, it's the most likely culprit. After that check the ignition switch, then go from there.
