Low to High... S10 Lower to lift pics!
Monday, February 27, 2006 3:42 PM
Well, I took my old lowered '96 S10, that I bought with a drop on it. I drove it around for a year or two and then sold it to my little brother. He goes off road sometimes for work and broke one of the leaf springs. So we decided to put this think in the air.

It is a 4cyl 2wd. So we had to get a prerunner kit from AIM industries... (Scary I know).

Anyway, here is the final result...

Before:

And After:

Let me know what you think.

looked better before, 2wd trucks should go low, 4wd go high.

Looks like a good truck for it's age, and I think it looks better now. I just don't like lowered trucks, 2wd or not.

Your brother has to get rid of the taillights and get nicer corners though.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Unless you're Chuck Norris.
Then two wrongs make a roundhouse kick to the face.

And so is a raised one.

The purpose it serves? To get him places without bottoming out or @!#$ things up. IM sure he doesnt plan to go off roading with it like through mud pits and @!#$ but it sure is nice to have the extra ground clearence. I think it looks good man..Remember "Low riders are for little boys who cant get it up"

This is what inspired it all:
Lifted 2WD S10

And the truck had to be sold, or be lifted, as he couldn't install fence posts with a lowered truck. So far, including the price of the truck, lift, and tires, he is into it about $4000. I think it is pretty nice.

It isn't so bad with the big tires and the 4Cyl. Not as bad as I thought it would be. It actually does ok.

About the ALTEZZA's! Ha, yeah, my brother backed into somthing and broke a taillight. His girlfriend thought she was being nice, and bought him those. He put them on so he wouldn't break her heart. He has since ditched the girl, but put every penny he had into the lift. So the gheness lights have to stay. We all have alot of fun making fun of them. Especially how the center of them sticks out like some little boobies

By the way, the offset of the 17" Centerlines was too much for the new spindles. So we had to go stock. The best we could find was my brother's 16" Extreme Blazer wheels. He is thinking about painting them black with a polished lip maybe...

and i think lifted trucks are for hicks. And all he had to do was put it to stock height to clear @!#$ smart ass. Why lift a 2wd 4 cylinder no less truck. its already a slug. it serves absolutely no purpose up there.

its my opinion and he asked for it.

Actually, we were going to have to do alot of work to put it back to stock. It had lowering leafs in the rear (single leaf)... and one was broken.

The front was lowered using bell tech drop spindles. So he had to buy new stock springs, and new front spindles. So we went with lift spindles, and stock springs with a flip kit.

I know that off road, it isn't any better than if it were stock. But for driving around, at least it doesn't look as homley as a stock 2wd s10. And it wasn't much more for lifted parts over stock parts that needed to be replaced to put it back to stock.
