what do you guys think of this truck?
also is there any ford truck forums out there?
do you really have a reason for such a big truck?
idk i see alot of people buy trucks for no reason watsoever

Diesel or gasoline? I'd go with a Silverado, but I'm partial to Chevy

Sounds like a nice truck though, do everyone a favor and run over $h!ty drivers please!

I know somebody is going to say it.... Gas is $3/gallon.
I wrote this post a long time ago, a real long time ago, back in 94.

i dunno id just get a 150, but if you want diesel, then i guess the 350 would be the way to go
a friend has an 05 with the 5.4 (which I imagine comes with the Lariat package) and it's a nice truck. I actually like the new F-series a lot.
F350 diesel is one big ass truck. One of my friends just bought one for his work truck. They can about tow a house lol.

Why is that wasting money?
then just get a 150 with the extended cab (or quad cab or whatever you wanna call it, crew cab? i dunno) long bed
thats more truck than most people can handle
my dad refers to it as the ark
yes, I have also heard that the 6.0 diesel is a horrible motor. A guy I work with is also a Ford mechanic, and he said that there have been a whole lot of work trucks with the 6.0 in them that have blown up with very low mileage
the 7.3 diesel is still a good option (I'd get a 24-valve Cummins first, though

)

you can lose a civic in an F350, and the money you spend on fuel
within one year will be enough to buy a small island in the tropics

So what kind of mpg is "crazy?????
Even with all the crap on your car it'll still probably get 2x the mileage as that truck.
Me thinks you have no clue what crappy mpg is really like.

I just sold me 2500 silverado and let me say some things...
1. dont get a long bed. or if you do, plan on not having the ability to park in the good spots. I went from a civic to the extended cab long bed and it didnt take long before I stopped trying and started parking toward the back of lots lol.
2. the gas thing sucks ass big time. I had a 34 gallon tank, the pump stops at 75$ so once it got to less than a half tank I couldnt fill it all the way. It was either dont top it off or start over and pump some more gas. Long bed trucks have huge gas tanks.
3. mileage sucked. I had the 6.0 gas motor so I got significantly worse mpg than if it were a diesel. I averaged 12-13 in the summer, 10-11 in the winter. I know the 3/4-ton chevy diesels will get about 20 hwy though.
4. Unless you need to tow a house, a boeing 747 or an elephant dont get a 1-ton truck. It would help us if you told us exactly what you plan to use this truck for.
I'm going to recommend a half-ton or a 3/4-ton, very few people need a 1 ton. If you absolutly want a diesel (which I dont blame you) than get a 3/4-ton. But like I said, we could be of more assistance if we knew what you planned to use the truck for.
Don't buy a new Ford Diesel. If you want a diesel, go with the Dodge. Buy w/e size truck you want. You don't need to justify why you want one. Buy one because you can and because it's what you like. Just don't buy a Ford because you will live to regret it. My friend just went back to a Dodge after putting about a million dollars into his Ford. He's had to replace the turbo, multiple sensors, engine wiring harness, and many other parts and now all of the problems that were supposed to be fixed are back. The dealership doesn't even know what is wrong with it.
wow i guess the new 07 ford models change totally, i guess its a complete new engine 6.6L twin turbo, does anyone know much about when it comes out and price range?
there would be no way, that i would by a 03 ford when you can get the new versions so cheaply
and you civic won't be anywhere anywhere anywhere near the gas consuption of a f350

dont know anything about it but I think between the big 3, your base model diesels (thats 3/4-ton, 2wd, power nothing, RCLB) are about 30,000$. Obviously you can start throwing in options like an EC or CC, 4x4, etc etc and go up to 50,000$ easily. I'm pretty sure a brand new truck like you described in your first post would def be close to 50.

We've got a 1-Ton, LBCC SRW Silverado w/ the 6.6/Allison combo and every option.
Don't buy a Ford when it comes to their big trucks, I constantly outhaul them on our steep grades (towing a 29' Jayco trailer) around here, and nothing can beat the Allison transmission.
Picture this, accelerating up a variating 8-15% grade, at ~70mph. Easy.
One of my buddys bought a new Dodge Ram 3500 diesel not too long ago, thing is an ANIMAL. I would honestly grab one of those oer the Ford any day of the week. Looks better, drives better, lasts longer, and also retains value a lot better.
Either way, if you go diesel, visit Banks power......awesome stuff to mod those trucks with.
