Is it just me or does my fiancee's 2002 Grand-Am have more power than my 2003 Sunfire? She has the same 2.2 ecotec engine as mine. I've only driven her car a handful of times and it just seems a bit touchier at the gas pedal than mine does. I thought the first few times it might have just been the seat distance was adjusted different than I am used to, but it feels the same each time I got behind the wheel of it. I don't know much about Grand-ams, nor am I a fan of them. I'd take a Grand-prix over a Grand-am anyday. I just think it feels more responsive than my Sunfire with the same motor. Anybody have any insight on this??

Every car is different. Are they both autos or what?
well then. theres only one explanation.. Magic. Shes put a magic spell on it to be faster than your car. Or... wait... does she have NoS Seat covers and/or floor mats? If so thats why.
its cause she has boobies...cars like boobies
All engines are differant and have differant tolerances that are allowed during a build. Certain factors in the construction of said engine result in gains or losses of power. It's an anomoly of mass production. Sometimes people are blessed with "freak" engines that are abnomally stong, while others get pwn3d with unusually weak engines.

No.. no thats what i was thinking also, but he said it was faster when HE was driving it.. Unless............... He has boobies too???
i think you just feel like it has more power
the car weighs more than yours, its prolly just perception
biggest factor is probably gearing.
Ah that is a possability as well. I hadnt' concidered the voodoo approach. She could also be putting the tears of a virgin in with her gasoline, i hear that works wonders
I'll handle this: Yes, your wife's Grand am IS faster than your J bod.
Grand Am's and other N bodies have a thing that J's don't have... it's called "presence."
For this reason, all but the most built for speed J's like those dragsters and track pounders you see that are in posession of happy ecotecs, are pretty much dogs.
In an N-body, they're much happier.
Go give your J's ecotec a biscuit... it's probably feeling pretty crappy having to park next to a GA.
Seriously, I think your wife just isn't punching the sh*t out of the throttle, or her driving habits may be different, I don't know.
