Yo guys i just goit a 89 regal for free from my professor, and i have a little conundrum...

it had a massive vacuum leak, car would barley hold a idle, fixed it car ran great.

the next day i crank up the car it idles around 500 and dies, crank again and it wont start, than noticed a major oil leak put it in the air and noticed the oil-filter was loose took it off to inspect the mounting service and screw, the surface is ok, but i noticed the oil filter to engine bolt/screw was loose so i torqued it down to 63ft-lbs(all-data) and put it back together and stuff, checked the oil....... 2 QUARTS OVER FULL, so i drop the 2 quarts. Go to crank the car still no go.

so this is what i think might be the prob.
* the oil pressure sending unit/FP cut off is toast, the FP primes when i turn the key is on.
* im gonan check the FF and the lines tomorrow.
And i know the FP is good cause when the engine was running it had ab 35-40 PSI.

any input is greatly appreciated, i just wanna get it running so i can start on building up a 3x00 for it.

Get rid of it. The first year or 2 of W-bodies are money pits.
