I have a 2000 honda accord lx, 4 cylinder sedan..I was wanting to know how many gallons of gas the car takes..also the average mpgs..

I checked the engine and it is a VTEC..I haven't really heard of an accord with a vtec..just wondering if it standard??..Someone thought I was stupid and asked if I looked to see if said VTEC on it..

according to autos.msn.com, the fuel tank holds 17.1 gallons of fuel. i can't answer the VTEC question.

Yes, it has "VTEC".

All of the motors now and practically all the motors before have had VTEC. It has nothing to do with what motor has it, or if it is a "performance" car. There is actually 4 differant types of VTEC. It is not only for high rpm performance, but for better fuel economy as well.

Problem has always been that people who think they know a lot about car (and in reality know very little) make a lot of assumptions about Honda and that magic little abbriviation VTEC. I've heard everything from the engine being a VTEC to the car isn't self being a Honda VTEC. Drives me nuts, and no offense to you at all. I'm just talking about the people who were giving you @!#$ for saying your Accord has VTEC. I mean, it's stamped in huge block letters on your valve cover, what else do they need?

And lilbit is right. It's right over 17 gallons.
