trans ams are designed by god and built by jesus. they have no flaws.

It's a fact. It's actually in Genesis, right after God made the world, he made F-body.

it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.

That is one hell of a car right there. Judging from those pics, it looks like it has 100K miles less then what it has.
One thing though, if you do buy it... . Get the SLP spark plug socket, it makes life easier.

Who is the seller? Private or dealership? Name?

If you plan to modify the vehicle at all, avoid 98's. PCM issues.

Make sure you beat the ever living piss out of that car before purchase. Dont mess around. Test the posi. Do a few high rpm clutch drops. Top speed pulls. Hard Accelerations. Hard Braking. Lots of tight turning. Listen for anything and everything while doing this. If you have someone with you, even better. More ears.

Get underneath the car. Check the underbody very closely. Check the front and rear suspension. Check the paint very closely to find out if it is repainted. Inspect the engine bay for any signs of a nitrous kit. If it is a 6spd, and i pray to Allah almighty that it is a 6spd, be sure to go through *all* the gears in a very liberal manner.

I purchased my T/A in Texas as well. DFW area. I flew in and spent a weekend test driving nothing but Camaros and T/As ... WS6s, SSs, Autos, 6spds, etc. I visited 2 dealerships, and 1 private seller the first day. I singled it down to two by then, and spent the 2nd day driving the ever living piss out of them. Ever wonders how it feels to do 140MPH going through the gears on a highway outside of Dallas in 80deg weather with the T-tops off and nothing but clear blue skies and miles of empty road ahead of you? It feels amazing. So did the numerous donuts and clutch drops .... yup. Posi worked. Paid for my car and flew home. I did my research. Every car I looked at, I had a write up on. GM national service records, VIN search records, insurance records (being on 40 billion msg boards has its perks). Lots of paper. Needed a briefcase.

As several people have already suggested, check out LS1Tech. In fact, make it your new home for the next few days ... especially these forums.

Good Luck.

If it wasnt for the whole 'pride' thing ... that would be my new sig.

I second beating the living piss out of it. Test drove a manual 86 trans am a few weeks back, if it werent for the highway nearby I wouldnt have found out about its stalling problem at high rpms in any gear above 2nd. then again lt1 not ls1, still congrats and make sure to push it hard the first few weeks to test its weak points.

only things wrong with it is the drivers side windows needs a new motor, and the headlights make a funny noise after they go down like they still wanna go down but it stops after like 2 seconds. other then that its mint

been out driving it tonight and man have to say its kinda fast...more like scary fast .. atleast to me im used to low 15 to high 14 second cars. this thing though is just insain no way it has only 310hp

also i found out the only mod to it is the SLP loud mouth exhaust...is that a good thing? does that net any power?

Have fun! Do you have anything planned for it?

The Loudmouth sounds alright with stock manifolds, but if you gets headers then its a good idea to switch to something else. It tends to be very raspy.
