SS Trailblazer what?

oh and here's the clincher:

"Note: Recent testing has shown that the SRT600 can attain fuel economy
of 16.6 mpg under highway cruising speeds of 80 mph. Stock fuel economy
is around 14 mpg. Our upgraded fuel management system is responsible
for this improvement in fuel economy and the increased range between
fill-ups during highway driving.

think of it this way.
a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S makes 520hp and it costs $110,000.
its 0-60 is 4.8 seconds opposed to the SRT600's 3.7 seconds.

DAMN. I did actually read that a long time ago but (since I'm very very very bad
with names) I forgot it was hennessey. That sucks, but I'm sure someone more
reputable can match those numbers. I'm pleased that the potential is there.

thumbs down to hennessey. thumbs up to the SRT8

A Porsche is a Porsche... A Jeep is Chrysler.

There's a big difference in brand quality

Love the Jeep SRT8, but I would never buy one from that hack Hennessey. HPE has had MANY problems, both legal and mechanical.

Hopefully some reputable company will start tuning those. I really love the body style of the GrandCherokees.

I think you're confusing brand quality with brand positioning (and you're forgetting
about brand value). Just because Porsche is positioned as a quality auto (through
many years of built up good will) doesn't mean it is a quality auto.

German cars take a severe nosedive once their warranty expires. The "quality" of
it's fit & finish takes a backseat to its mechanical woes, and the value associated
with the brands "fast" reputation takes a kick in the pills the first time the owner
is bested by a far-cheaper SRT8 (or SRT600). I used to love German cars; I almost
bought a 325xi this summer until reality kicked in; when you consider the variables,
you're buying a German car for status rather than features or quality.

lol for sure... if we didn't love our respective cars... we wouldn't sign up on car forums,

Really?

Answer me this:
You have a broke SRT-600, and a broke Cayenne S... I'll bet you dollars to donuts the Porsche will be on the road faster.

20 years hence:
You have a SRT-600, and a Cayenne S... I'll bet the same that you'll get higher money out of the Cayenne S because a modded Jeep is still a liability no matter who did the work.

Porsche is a high marque brand for a reason. Build quality, targeted demographics pricing and overall on-road and racing acumen are the reason they can justify those prices.

BTW, while a SRT-600 may do better in the 1/4 mile, TURN that thing @ 90 mph and let me know how you make out... Cayenne S's can do that, and a LOT more.

First off, it's unfair to compare a modified car to a standard car, hence I will
outright admit that the SRT600 holds unfair advantage. I will also admit that
some folks will gladly pay the 35,000 premium to own a slower unmodified
auto. However, and this is a big however... a regular SRT8 Grand Cherokee
is nearly as fast as that Cayenne S, and there are allot more Chrysler
dealerships anywhere you travel. Answer me this: who will fix that precious
Porsche when you drive up north to visit your family or take that road trip with
the family to the middle of nowhere. Odds are, if you do find a mechanic,
that mechanic will respond with one of two options: 01) I'm not touching it.
02) Sure I'll fix it... how much money you got boy.

The targeted demographics for Porsche SUVS are people with more money
than common sense. You are also correct that the Cayenne S's can do LOT
more... in particular its 0-60 speed reaching the garage for repairs is simply
outstanding. Porsche/ BMW/ Mercedes/ Audi all justify their pricepoints via
carefully crafted marketing strategies, and supply and demand economics.
I'm not saying the Porsche isn't an attractive auto, I'm saying its unattractive
only once you factor in the true cost of ownership. Like most luxury brands,
they're only good under lease.

I know a few 911 owners that would beg to differ, but that's besides the point. (even though it's a 911 turbo boxer in the Cayenne S)

Why don't you see more SRT-8s on the street?

Money is one thing, but honestly put, If I had the money for an SRT-8 Cherokee or a Cayenne, depending on the crowd I run with, I wouldn't consider either because quite honestly, I don't need 300 extra pounds up front doing pretty much nothing all the time. Unless you really need it, why go higher than a Honda Fit?

Put it this way, I wouldn't buy an SUV unless I needed one. And if I have the money, bollocks to what whatever someone else thinks, I'm buying what I decide to buy, price points and cost of ownership be damned.
