Theres one in the town where i live for 2500
this car is PERFECT, theres no tears or cracks in the leather, no fading or cracking on the dash or sagging in the headliner, the paint is immaculate,
the car looks like it just came out of a dealership.
anyway i drove it yesterday (btw it has a four speed manual)
and its alot of fun
the owner says it get 50 mpg, which is awesome for me
im pretty sure im gonna buy it, it just depends on if the bank will loan me the 2500
ill find out in a couple days

I'd say $2500 is a bit steep, but I'm no expert.

Pics.

2500 for an 82 rabbitt? wtf?
a bank more than likely will NOT give you a loan for that much cuz the blue book on it is prolly like 5 bucks ad a bank will not give you a loan for more than what THEY think a car is worth

post pics, if it doesnt need anything and is has low mileage it might be worth it. it will pay for itself in savings from gas insurance and registration pretty fast. I have an 84 rabbit diesel 4 speed. The clutch and timing belt are expensive if it needs them. I got my rabbit for $175 but then spent probably $1500 replacing stuff. I get 42 mpg around town and it costs me around $500 a year for insurance and I think it was $30 something a year to register. I run about a gallon of used motor oil through it a tank and that saves on fuel cost. I doubt the bank will loan you the money, see if the previous owner will take payments if you can. heres a pic in case you care

My neighbor has had a couple of them. I remember one of them had like 400,000 miles on it when it went to the junkyard. He bought it brand new and really didn't even have to do any maintence on it besides glow plugs. It still ran good when he junked it but it was so rusted that it just started falling apart....

The little truck ones are kinda cool....

but yeah, that thing had better be mint for $2500

yeah, the gas mileage and the insurance is mostly the reason im buying it,
but really, the car IS mint, there is not thing on that car that shows any indication of age or use at all
after driving it, i was willing to pay what hes asking
if i remember right, i think it has around 66k miles on it...
but i could check again.
