That sucks at least he is okay. The dealer better supply him with a new vette.

This is the second C6 Z06 I've seen catch on fire.

The other one was at a Corvette event and it cought fire in the woods. I recorded it the scene, but you can't see the Vette as they told us to get back.
Hmm I wonder if these will start a recall soon?

Fixed it for you
how is that fixed?
the dealer installed exhaust on the vehicle. How is that GMs fault?
I would imagine that something to do with the exhaust touching a fuel line or the gas tank would cause the fire. I think thats the dealer's problem due to negligence by one of their mechanics.

I didnt see where it said that. All i saw was that when asked what might have caused it, all he could think of was that he just had a new exhaust installed..

good point, fixed roof c6 and zo6's were also included as they were losing roofs on the road also.
According to somebody whos seen the car. The car threw a rod through the block and oil landed on the exhaust/enngine?? who knows though

Dealer Just Installed A New Exhaust.....$10 Says They Left A Rag Laying On It.
^^^
Wouldn't the rag have fallen off?
And even so, that wouldn't start the entire car on fire

Only the targa version (C6).
Z06 were not subject to the recall as their titanium roofs are fixed on to roll bar and A-pillar.

i think the first roof coming off i read was a Z06 , its the outter panel and it was coming unglued
My understanding it was the targa, but I stand corrected.
Looking at those links, it reminds me of the ridiculous things I saw working at Benz. Is GM using Germans for quality control now?
