Finally Started The Rear Suspension Install

Started late in the day so didnt finish I hope to finish next friday or during the week right before woodward

the upper trailing arms and trailing arm mount braces will not be installed yet due to them being adjustable and I dont have the time to get them fined tuned yet so they will be done after woodward

Also the install was also done along with my brother

here are the pics

now the reason the car sits so high in the rear is some redneck put 3 inch spring perch lifts in

old spring and new spring (old seems beefier)

the upper and lower trailing arms (the mount braces are not pictured)

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

Well my brother finished most of the work except the uppers and braces but we will do those after woodward

for some reason the ass end sits real low compared to the front

so we may need to cut the perches down a bit and put them back in

some picks but i'll get better ones tomorrow

Day pics as promised

you can see the rear is kinda squating

rear gap

front gap

I'm taking the perches by a shop tomorrow to cut a inch out so I'll have a 2inch piece and a 1 inch piece and can swap them in and out

hopefulyl the car will sit better tomorrow

got the car back on the ground

the car has a small rake and depending how the springs settles and how it looks with the new tires i may go another 1/2 inch to a inch to get it just right

but here you go pics of the car on level ground

ass end is way to high now , almost ready to give ya a nose bleed , the gap looked alot better before

my elco didnt have that much gap with new stock springs , and even heavy duty springs , granted im running 275/60/15's that are 28" tall

this is way better than before on stock springs and 3 inch perches now its hotchkis springs and 2 inch perches like I said I'll see how they settle but will probbaly take another 1/2 inch to a inch out from the perches

honestly id take the perches out and just run the springs , if anything toss some airbags in it , and use a higher rated stock height spring

when they sit that high , traction/wheel hop and handling suffer , our cars handle better and hook up better if the lower arms are parallel to the ground , then use the uppers to alter the pinion angle , and you got a great set up

i like the old school muscle cars with a rake also , just yours is a little extreme

I tried that here

rearend sat lower than the front

and trust me this is lower than the rake it had before by about 2 inches or so

hard to tell from that pic though because of the drive way slant , but it looked better to me in that pic , just needs air bags

how many miles have been put on the front springs ? and since i never asked but , the front tires the same size on those wheels or are they different ?

best tire sizes in 15" are 245 or 255 , 60/15 front and 275/60/16 rear , fills the wheels wells up nicely and gives that nice rack look

Re: Finally Started The Rear Suspension Install

not many miles on the front less than 80 miles i'd say

currently it has 235/60/15 in front and 255/60/15 in the back the new tires are 215/70/15 and 235/70/15 i was limited on size for red line radials
