Lada's and Yugo's were both very awful Fiats that were made worse than usual by the terrible Russian production standards, but I was thinking... wouldn't the old 2003-2005 Cavalier make a great Russian car? They could use the 2200 LN2 and sell it under the Moskvich name. The Russians would be flabbergasted to have a car that doesn't break down every day and we could have cheap parts for our J's for the next 30 years. It's a win-win situation.
In soviet russia, j-body drives you!

How many steps to heaven, Doc?
...Ah, metaphysics.
Could they run on cheap vodka then?

as long as it's the 2200 and not the LD9 2.4. Other wise they WILL break down every month or so. The next world war would be a result of Russians revolting against the onslaught of Spun rod bearings!

no im pretty sure Js would be too expensive to fill that niche. geos, maybe. but i suppose its really a moot point now that we are two years removed from the last J body.
Naw, the J's wouldn't be too expensive. Look at the "new" Russian version of the Dodge Stratus. The GAZ Siber

They "upgraded" it for Siberian winters and it's supposed to come with a 2.4 engine and auto tranny. To be honest, they should have bought the rights to the J-body instead. Would have been more reliable and come with a manual tranny.
