I'm aware of what these sell for. $400 is CHEAP.
[quote="shaggy853"]I finally sold my red prelude today so im on a selling frenzy. Sadly its dark so the pics suck but if you let me know what u want pics of specifically I can take them.
I traded a friend a couple sets of wheels and tires and some cash for this. It was his project but he found an older Z real cheap so he pulled the motor for that project and traded the 240 to me. From what I can tell the body is pretty damn decent. Here is a list of what I know of thats on the car:
JDM cluster
tein springs
carbon fiber hood
body kit sides/rear
m3? style mirrors
He told me he has the front bumper for it, the original radio and some other stuff but I forget. I wouldnt guarantee that those things go with the car until they are in my possession but there is a good chance. There is also a gauge pod in the center console that he made if someone wants that. He had a JDM 6 cylinder in it, but I forget which one. I think the hood could be saved, its cracked in a couple spots.
I dont really know what its worth, but if you want it or something off of it shoot me an offer worst case is I say no. For what I have in it I would have no issue keeping it but if I can get something out of it that would be a better option than listening to my dad bitch about having to store it. Hes already a little pissed its sitting on his rollback.
UPDATE:
I took some more pics of the car today and looked it over a little better. I have also received numerous inquiries from this and other ads I have posted and right now I am looking for somewhere around 700(judging by the offers I have so far) BUT CASH TALKS. I have yet to see any money so if you come throw a decent amount of cash in my face you will probably own it. I have also had a couple people ask me about parts. I will probably save the car for a week as a whole and then give up and start parting it out. Again if you want specific pics just let me know I can get them.
Here are some answers to previous questions:
The previous owner told me no rust and I looked anyways. I cant find ANY rust on the car.
It was originally an auto shell BUT it was switched over before my buddy bought the car by a Nissan dealer with OEM parts. He told me that all of the lines still have the OEM Nissan tags on them. I'm not incredibly familiar with Nissans but if he hadnt told me that I would have said it was an original 5 speed car.
There is no battery in the car so I cannot test the windows and locks, but I was told without delay that the windows and locks worked fine when I asked. From what I can tell the cruise control is gone.
The engine harness was kept with the engine.
As of right now the interior is intact minus some trim pieces shown in the pics. The headliner looks fine and the seats look pretty clean to me, I didnt see any tears or significant wear spots that caught my attention.
The whole car looks terrible. The previous owner was obviously not a body man and its pretty easy to see that. But I think there is a lot of potential.
The glass looks fine except for the windshield.
Delivery is not out of the question within reason, though I would need at least the gas money paid in advance for my round trip to and from where you are.
The hood is a real VIS hood. It will require a fair amount of repair. I would suggest fiberglassing the cracks and painting it.
The car does not come with an engine or tranny. For the right price I could pry do some looking and find one but you could do that just as easy and get what you want.
This is a project car or a parts car, not a show or race car. It does have potential.
It does have a CLEAN TITLE sitting here waiting to be signed by you.

Do it....the next car I will be modding will be a 240.
Not a total loss. i autoxed with a kid who put the skyline motor in his. I think it was the SR20DET Redtop? sound right? it hauled like a mother!
SR20 redtop is an S13 motor, supposed to be the easiest and cost effective
The SR20DE is a DOHC 4-cylinder if i remember right. My buddy had one in his 91 sentra and that car had some snap. I say get it, swap in the skyline motor (RBsomething or other i think) and twin turbo it.
(Im not into imports that much just mainly j-bodies, f-bodies, old chevy trucks and pontiac v-8s.)
"Project 69'"
1969 Chevrolet C/10, 1/2 ton, 2wd
-Boosted LS1?
-Richmond ROD 6-speed(will get sometime)
-Posi 12-bolt(built w/eaton posi unit and richmond 3.73 gears)
-Disc brake and 5 lug swap
+little extras
i like ecotecs.

put one of those in their with boost. lite import fram with a good american motor. should make a fun mut. and turn some heads.
im lookin for ease of swap as a priority. if i'm going to go outside of nissan motors it'll get an LS1 lol
Me personally, I would buy it in a heart beat lol

... Only problem is the last time i checked sr20 motor runs about 3 grand now, thanks to the fast and the furious hype and @!#$... I used to be able to get them for 1 grand with trans before all the hype

around 98 99....

Under Construction
SR20s are runnin 1500-2000, it used to have an RB20 in it, those are around 1100 might go that route
Do it. 240s are a sweet ride to build up. I'd love to do one eventually, though I've had the idea of swapping a VQ35 into it just to build up a cruiser, not really to go all out speed.
But if you really want to go nuts, jam an RB26 in there!! That'll be the most expensive route, but it'd be worth it.

If you can afford to put the thing back together, then don't wait another minute, go pick up that bad boy right away.

Well i talked to the guy that has it. He didn't take it apart, so he really doesn't know whats missing. The guy who owned it, and swapped it is going to call me this evening and let me know what all is missing. sounds like drive shaft and fuel pump too. no biggie so far

i who have nothing but the comfort of my sins...
I dunno what to do! people i know/trust tell me stay away, a bunch tell me get it! AHHHH
Maybe you should check out some 240/s13/s14 websites and ask the owners what to look out for. That should help determine if the price is worth it to you or not. But, the sr20 would probably be the easiest worthwhile swap for that car. From what I've heard, the RB motors aren't exactly "easy" to make fit, nor are they cheap (for good reason, though).

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.
i can get one with like 80k in good shape for like 2 grand down the street... 400 in that sorta shape seems like a rip off
get it and get a s14 front clip

My thoughts:
- Strip the sucker bare. Right to the sheet metal: chemical bath/walnut media... whatever. Get all the crud from the factory off.
- Spend some quality time with Mr. welder, stitch weld that bitch, and get the front end solidified.
- If you do an RB swap, you're going to find that it's going to be ass-happy. A stock red-top SR20DET is enough, but a black-top SR20DET is a little better. If you want to work over the engine, this is the time.
- Either way, do the swaps right, there's about a million guides out there.
Once that's done:
- Decide if you want to turn it into a full-race/drifter or if it's going to do street duties. If it's the former: Roll cage 6+ points, latter: 4 point cage
- Put in a decently comfortable pair of seats, and forget about the rear (240/180/Silvias have tiny rear seats).
- Get a good steering wheel and a factory replacement for the windshield.
- I would swap the front-end for either the S-15 front end, or the S-14 Kouki front end. If you get the VIS hood and it's pretty beat up, fix it, and paint it body colour.
As far where you want to take it: They're great platforms and have been wrenched on for ages in Japan. There are about as many parts manufacturers for the Silvia platform as there are for the Civic.. so you're basically dealing with what you need, what you want, and how well you can afford it. For $400, you scored a HELL of a deal.
