While I do like the old avenger body style (not a fan of the new ones, looks like a charger's bastard child), I've never seen an Avenger that was reliable. The ones with the small motor are extremely underpowered, so I'm not sure about the one you have. Looks good though, seems to be in great shape.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
the last charger i saw was the one with a small block running single digits
actually he's got the twin cam neon motor making 150 horses which isn't too bad. throw a couple bolt-ons on that motor the 2.0 twincam responds very well to simple mods. they are usually pretty reliable other than the timing chain/belt and the headgasket(it is a dodge you know). it's like driving an overweight neon, but looks better

wonder how hard it would be to throw a 4G63 in that beast, you know, since it's basically an oversized Eclipse
It actually isn't a Neon motor, but it's close. The head is backwards. It's the same 420a setup that came in the Eclipse. It's more of an overweight Talon. There have been a few 4g63 swaps done. The hardest part is the AWD conversion. Though the guy who is buying my car is one of the original guys who did a 4g63 swap in an avenger so I know it should be going to good hands!

True story, the entire car is a DSM underneith. It has the same doors front glass, and dash as a DSM. But just so you know the Eclipse GS had that same motor...and they're right it's the DOHC from Chrysler (a.k.a the DHOC Neon motor) Nothing about that motor is Mitsubishi.
But you can put mitsu motors in it. The talon/eclipse FWD turbo motor is practically just bolt in. Well practically.
I've actually seen a ton of Avenger/Sebrings with the FWD turbo DSM setup under hood in California. That is a pretty common swap, and makes for a great sleeper.

I've been around the block the 420a, definitely not a big fan of that engine. Plus changing injectors without taking the intake manifold off is a pain in the ass. I had a few bad nights doing that for a friend, especially when the one that was bad still didn't work when replaced with 2 different new injectors... arghh. sorry for the hijack and goodluck on the sale.
If the price is right I'm sure it will sell.

Thing is, my tags say Mitsubishi. That genuinely IS a Mitsubishi motor in there. Only thing is, the sticker in my rear deck lid tells me that my car is a DSM. weird!

chrysler and mitsu have been swapping motors and such since 'nam

so to be technical it is a chrysler 'built' motor however, was 'designed' by both mopar and mitsu and so was the 3.0 motor etc. my bro had a little dodge colt as a first car and everything was dodge except the motor, it was a mitsu engine alright. why don't they just merge and call it chrysubishi or something

wow, I did a quick Google of an Avenger 4G63, and I saw some nice ones, and a few Sebrings, also. Makes me rethink my next vehicle a little, imagine a nice Sebring with leather seats, Navigation, etc. And 400+hp and 4 spinning wheels. For fairly cheap, too. hmmm.
The guy who is buying my Avenger owns this one:
Yes, it's AWD and there's a turbo 4g63 in there!

I love how his house is barely bigger than his car haha, I can see my future looking very similar!
As long as I have a garage to spend most of my time in and a house big enough to fit a bed inside I'll be fine.

Eat, sleep, race. All you really need. Internet porn can take care of the rest.
Dude really, though I wish I could find a Avenger with the 2.0L. I have a ES with the 2.5L auto combo and have been looking for one in good shape since I got my '99 in 2002. Yours would be great. I hate living in South Carolina.
BTW I'm "silvercars1999" on the asec.
well she was sold today!

idk what you consider cheap, but you can pick up a 3000gt VR4 or a Stealth R/T TT. They have the 4g63 in em. Older ones can be had for 5-8k, all they way up to 20-25k for '99. Fun if ya have the finances to keep em going. Trust me. traded my cavy in on one two years ago. Though i have put more than probably about 4k in it on top of the 9k i paid for it. =)
Mmmmmm Twin Turbo

^ 3000GT's have a V6 in them, not a 4G63. They are also nice cars, but I'm probably gonna end up with either a GTO or G8 (if they ever come out with a manual trans). BMW interior and ride for half-price, plus a Gen-IV small-block and high-20's highway mileage. Can't beat that @!#$ with a stick
