I am actually getting SICK of people dropping LSX motors in EVERYTHING

It's the motor to end all motors, I don't see what there is to get sick of sir. Your logic is flawed.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

Fact is, it's the most reliable/economical and decent power out there.
SBC FTW
They have been slapping faces for a generation!

Actually it would be four generations, since the LS2/3/4/7/9 are part of the GEN IV SBC group, the LS1/6 the GEN III, the LT1/4 the GEN II, then of course the originals before

True.
I meant generation of people.
Has anyone swapped an LSx into a portable power generator? Screw Nuclear! You could power Toronto with the SBC.
I'm pretty sure, in time, the SBC with solve world hunger.
Chuck Norris has nothing on the SBC.
Ford Hotrod guys have known for years that the SBC was THE choice for power. They've been bulling 300 plus HP out of our junk yards for years. It was only a matter of time before the import guys came to their senses. Sure, the inline 4 and 6 can make power, but you'll simply go throught three times the engines in the same time frame.
Disclaimer: the preceeding comments were made after an evening in a Sports Bar.

I knew what you meant
I am just finishing up probably my 30th 12 hour shift in a row and just felt like babbling
And yes, I do agree the SBC is going to take over the world, it already has two/thirds of my driveway

I know exactly how that feels. It actually becomes a nice state...after...after...after a while. I was once asked if I was on drugs. No drugs, just for more hours work than sleep, for a long time.
I was hoping for an LS2 in the driveway, but it just wasn't meant to be, yet!
I stand by my previous statements involving Sir Norris.
A thread with nothing but SBC swaps would be interesting. I bet there are some wacky examples out there. I have seen a few in my days.

Except the S2000 never came with a K-series engine.
In just about any other circumstance I would call this sacrilege.... but:
1)It was done by Aussies and not redneck hillbillies (although the argument can be made that Aussies are just redneck hillbilly Brits)....
2) It has fuel injection
3) It has turbos.
4) When you really think about it, which would you honestly rather have under the hood as a race team member/driver... An increasingly expensive, hard to get twin cam straight six with an expensive aftermarket and harder to get parts, OR- a widely used, widely available tough as nails V8 with a widely available, relatively inexpensive aftermarket?
I was just reading on edmunds the other week about how a company is selling Skyline GTR bodies that have been refurbished to meet American DOT standards, but with no drivetrain or chassis components so that the EPA classifies them as kit car parts and allows you to bypass numerous customs tapdancing... Now, assuming you did this, look at what it would cost to get a full R34 drivetrain and then install it, or get an LSX with a G-force T5 behind it? Granted, 90% of us can't afford to do either, but still, it does make at least some sense.

I think I'm the only person left on earth that would rather have a smaller displacement Twin dual cam 8, 10 or 12 cylinder over the LSX. The engine is just getting way too overplayed in my opinion. I used to love to see LS1 and LS6 swaps, but now that half of GM's stable is sporting an LSX, the platform has completely lost it's niche.
I have to agree with Scarab though. For a drifting competition, a cheap large displacement ohv engine makes the most sense. Not only are parts going to be far cheaper to replace, but it doesn't take revving to the skies to keep the tires spinning, which puts far less stress on your engine.

its cool and all but i would rather see a chevy engine in a chevy, a ford engine in a ford, a nissan engine in a nissan, etc
but thats my preference

some day, I will have 2 turbo's hanging from my LS1..... some day.....

And a Poncho Engine in a Pontiac?
I've seen a Ford Marine Block engine in a Chevy draped race chassis if that makes you feel better.
Anyhow, the LSx has the parts catalogue that dwarfs most other engines (with the possible competitors of the B/K Series Honda and the SR/VQ series Nissan running a close 3rd), so why not drop it into the chassis of choice? The RB engines were great, don't get me wrong, but when it comes to building up a racing vehicle, Spending a ton of money to import parts just doesn't make sense when there's a ton of parts already in the country that you can buy for far cheaper and make more and reliable power.
