just imagine what that would look like if it was fiberglass.
STREET RACING IS DUMB, I LOST MY BEST FRIEND TO IT
that sucks man. please tell me what the red liquid is on the bumper? that doesnt look good.
urethane breaks just like everything else too
omg man! thats horrible. i remeber a couple months back you ran over a deer and it just took off some paint. what the heck happened to do that. sorry bout your luck man, hope it all works out for ya.
I think he hit a guard rail, if i remember correctly. I think there is a problem with the way most companies advertise urethane bumpers as being "virtually indestructible" when they're not.
wow

Glad you guys are ok though
No one ever said (at least no one with 1/2 a brain) that urethane was indestructable. It will flex more than fiberglass (unless hit with a high speed impact, then they sometimes shatter especialy at colder temps). The only thing about Urethane is that it's an exspensive PITA to fix.

i don't seem to recall "virtually indestructable" meaning that you can take a header into a guardrail at 30+ mph with 2800 lbs of car behind it and expect your PLASTIC bumper to come out unscathed...

I hit a deer at 70 on the interstate a month before and all it did was knock some paint off the bumper. I got lucky and the deer rolled under the car. This post is not meant to be turned into some b.s. thread. I simply made it to show that its not indestructable as they say. I know that urethane isn't but many people think it is when its not. So I hope this thread doesn't get turned into some argument. But there are alot of newbs out there that think buying a urethane kit has solved all their worries of not destroying anything.
Plain and simple, its winter, and during really cold winter months urethane is brittle as can be, this proved it. When I hit the deer it was an unusually warm for November.
Thank you for the kind words to those that mentioned it. Like everyone said, urethane isn't indestructable. I have seen them hold up to some of the worst accidents ever and them shatter to very minor accidents as well. The type of accident as well as 30 some degree temps helped play a factor in it being destroyed. And considering the rest of my car, its really the least of my worries.
