headlights for a sunfire, anyone?
Monday, May 29, 2006 4:20 PM
I have a 96 sunfire gt and have been looking for a set of custom headlights.
I don't want the oem look, but it seems to be the only one I can find. Maybe I'm
not looking inthe right places. However, I have looked and looked but only find the original style. Can anyone help?

Thanks bro. This is just what I was looking for. Do they work alright? I noticed a statement saying they were not DOT and should be used for shows and offroad only.

well, just about anything you do custom to your lighting will not be DOT. if you purchase just the lenses, i have heard people say they do not receive great light output. i have also heard otherwise though. but i would suggest mounting a projector to be safe. i put that notice to save my butt . if you have any other questions, you are more than welcome to shoot me an email, PM me, ask here, or you can send me a message through my site. good luck with what you find!!!

The ones I have from Josh are bright as all hell, but I'm using them as high beams with the shield removed. My low beams are from a Passat and the light output on those sucks.

hey ron, didnt you say your friend had another set of projectors at that time along with the passat's? maybe you could ask him for those instead and replace them. but i cant remember that far back.

or, you can perhaps throw in an HID kit. do you have a 9006 harness? i just got some HID kits that come with:

2 X Denso ballasts
2 X Philips 4300K D2S/D2R HID bulbs and plug into (Standard or Rebased for H4, H7 and 9006)
2 X custom connectors
and some cable ties

so they are simple plug and plays for H4's, H7's, and 9006's. let me know ron. ill hook you up.

They are H7's I believe, but I have them hooked into my 9006 (whatever the 2k+'s had) harness. I would need the kit for the H7's (I'll have to double check that). I'm just not sure if my lenses are HID compatible. Not like they spend a lot of time being on

Getting a set for my 98GT would be nice, but hearing how their light output isnt the best doesnt sound good. with HID's (or projectors), can i still retain the one bulb for both high and low beam, or two seperate bulbs?
