hey everyone..I plan to do some molding of my skirts tomorrow...
they're URITHANE skirts...is there a special adhisive/bondo I need or any secrets I need to do this??
APPRECIATE ANY HELP..just plan on grinding down to the metal and using bondo to mold them, is this all I'll need?? I know it'll take A LOT of sanding but yeah...
love u all for this
no, stop, dont do it, ........ to mold in things, usually you want to FIBERGLASS! bondo will simply crack, not to mention good luck getting either to stick to urathane with your lack of knowlage. do some research. there are a few products that you can physically glue the skirt to the car, but then you have the problem of the fiberglass sticking still to my knowlege.
^^ highly doubt u can fiberglass urethane skirts for molding.. i'd think that would be just as bad as just putting body filler..
now i dont know how u would do it but i bet it involves some sort of fusor..
DOES ANYONE ELSE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS THAT CAN HELP???????

I have a buddy going to school for autobody helping me do it..which is the main reason why I've traveled a ways and i'm in a holiday inn express right now and meetin up with him this afternoon to work on it~
As far as I know, you won't be able to use any conventional fibreglass products. Something along the lines of
this I believe is what you'll want to use.
body paint supply store is your best friend
The Fusor/or 3m equivalent would be best...... Bondo will not work and is not designed to be used like this. Go down to your local automotive body supply/paint store and see what they reccomend... And remember, what ever you do, make sure whatevr you used cures before sealing it up with sealer/primer, otherwise it will eventually bleed through....

THANKS DUDE..i was hoping you'd come on....
I owe ya big time!!!!!
fusor 147 or 3m panel bond is what to use. glass will stick to urethane for a short time, but after a few temperature changes it will break free.
ps - bondo is a brand of product, not the name for body filler. and bondo is about the worst brand u can buy

Molding, is something you want a professional shop to do. If it's not done right, it's going to crack, and will need repainted eventually. Take it to a shop that will warranty their work, it'll save you money in the long run.
correct^^^^
the 3m panel bond won`t even stick to 2 different materials it just is not going to happen
either leave it alone or buy fiberglass rocker moldings
can i haz bondo
