Naked 4 dr Sunfire Trunk Lid?

By naked I mean without the trim piece on the trunk lid. Does anyone have a picture of this? I would like a pic of this because I'd like to see how hard it would be to shave.

I don't want a picture of shaved trunk lid, what I'm asking for is a 4 dr sunfire trunk lid, without the trim piece on it.

you say you have a 4dr? just buy a cavalier 2 or 4dr trunk lid. its direct fit. why bother shaving if you dont have to .. im sure theres holes from mounting like center piece. if your still looking for pictures, just look at a cavalier trunk lids .

a shaved sunfire trunk is identical to the cavalier trunk

and if your not gonna use the inner lights , its like a shaved cav trunk

only thing GM did was drill a few holes in the cavalier trunk and stuck the plastic piece on it and called it a sunfire trunk

Chasing, please stay out of the topic if you can't stay on topic. I simply asked for a picture of a naked sunfire trunk. I already have a Cavalier trunk, and I'd like to take on the task of actually shaving my sunfire trunk to get the experience.

Any more questions/grips/complaints? K, thx.

and to azncav, sorry for the reply, was in a bad mood at the moment because I had misplaced my iPod and had spent 3+ hours looking for it. Found it, in a better mood now

WTF is your problem?

Also, just put on the cavalier trunk. There is no point in doing extra steps.

  1. Remove sunfire trunk
  2. remove lock assembly from stock trunk
  3. install cavalier trunk
  4. remove lock
  5. replace lock with the sunfire's

  1. Remove stock sunfire trunk
  2. Unscrew and remove tail panel
  3. Sand down around screw holes
  4. Weld in new metal
  5. smooth out the area with filler
  6. sand filler
  7. paint the trunk
  8. reinstall trunk

It's your choice.

I'm glad. I'm welcomed by the joy that has come over your life by reading this thread.

Azn..I understand, but when people post things in the thread that I don't ask for, it irritates me.

I appreciate the help, but I guess I didn't explain myself well enough in the first post when I asked for the naked sunfire trunk, by stating I already have a Cavalier trunklid, and I want the experience of shaving a trunk myself.

J-Body FAQ wrote:To GM, the Cavalier is positioned as the more "value-based" car, while the Sunfire is seen as the more "performance-based" car. It is because of this that the Sunfire receives things such as more sound-deadening material and thicker padding in the dash and seats. Some minor options, such as courtesy lights and assist straps are only found on the Sunfire. Also, the Sunfire GT receives a dual-muffler exhaust system, while the Z24 does not.

According to a phobia list member who works at the Lordstown plant, the Sunfire also receives slightly higher-quality materials than the Cavalier does. For example, bumpers on the Cavalier are made from cheaper thermoplastic olefin (TPO) while the Sunfire receives reinforced injected molded plastic (RIM) bumpers.

It's funny 'cause it's true!

By the way Joel, nice Sedan !
