Has anyone tried to mold some Lexus tail lights? It looks like it would be easy. I don't know much about tail light conversions but it is just a thought. I think it would look bad ass. here is a pic if them.
So would anyone think this would be a good idea or would it look like crap.
Bob Mull did Lexus tails
nothing about a conversion is easy
they are in no shape, way or form like cavalier tail lights. it will take some work to get them to fit
moar candy pretty much said it, no easy job, if you dont have the skill to do it let a pro handle it, but it will cost you..as for lexus lights Bob Mull has lexus and Blue-the hated one i think actually has those lights on his cavy

As everyone has said, you are in for a TON of fabrication and body work if you attempt this. Last year I helped my friend put the tails from his Lexus into his girlfriend's cavy.
The body lines are no where even close to similar on the rear of the two cars, so in order to make it look right you basically have to reshape a good portion of the cavy rear..this means cutting a large chunk of the rear quarters and also a lot of fooling around with the trunk lines as those are a different angle too.
Cavy lights are more sloped than Lexus, so not only are you changing the side of the car so it looks proper when viewed from the rear, but you need to deal with the issue of a relatively flat tail light on a round rear end.
Honestly, if you don't have a solid background in body work, good welding skills, etc...I wouldn't even attempt it cause it's really easy to get in over your head on something like this.
My friend took a lot of progress pics while we were doin his, I'll ask him if he still has those and if so I'll post them up so you can get an idea of exactly what you'd be in for.
why dont you cut out the led tail, and mold it into some cav lights......tons easier
but the body lines arent even close to being somewhat similar.....it would be a HUGE biatch.

or he could just use the lights that go in the trunk lid which is just that small circle light. if not, the 2nd gen gs300s and gs400s has similiar tail lights in the trunk lid however they arent a perfect circle. i thought about using those when i had my cav.
