So, I want to name my car... But I don't want it to be any name, I want something relatively symbolic as well as something that sounds like the natural name of the car (in place of Cavalier). The Chevrolet of the car name doesn't matter, because EVENTUALLY I will take off all signs of Chevrolet on it... Not anything against Chevy, but I want it to seem like a vehicle nobody has seen before (with use of body kits, and major custom work), and name it what I want. Anyway... The colors for my car are black with red accents, and the general theme is stealthiness, smoke, futuristic, etc.
Here are my ideas so far:
01. Excelsior (Means Higher)
02. Stealth
a. Sigilo (Spanish)
03. Cavalier
a. Ridder/Rytter (Danish)
b. Ritter (German)
c. Galante (Italian)
d. Altero (Italian)
e. Riddare (Swedish)
04. Dark
05. Night
06. Yin/Yang
07. Silent
08. Smoke
09. Futuristic
10. Cyber
11. Ninja
With an exception to Excelsior, any of the words without a cool alternative word (With the numbers next to them, #4-#11) have not been translated yet.
^ I hope that makes sense, let me know if it doesn't.
Anyway... Does anybody have any ideas? Or has anybody done this? And I was just curious what other members have named their car, if anything?
Again, I'm ordering letter badges for it to replace Cavalier on the back at the same time I order "RACE TILL DAWN" in badges... I thought that would be a cooler, more unique, trend-setting, less obvious, less unwanted attention-grabbing way to show the team I'm in... As opposed to all my friends getting window stickers that would annoy me on my car.

naming your car for your own personal use is one thing. making a badge to go on it is another.

I agree, but its creative.
a lot of those sound kinda ghey.....like Excelsior
if you plan to really do this, #1 we need pics of the car.....the appearance will determine the most fitting name for it.
#2, are you planning on just sticking a badge on?? or are you going to register this as a kit car, and actually register the name? if so.....have fun with inspections if applicable.
#3 if you do just stick badges on....do you expect to NOT get made fun of?
I understand the idea.....but I think you have the wrong platform to start this with. I dunno....post pics up and well see.
Just learned Camaro means untouchable
You should name your car Pork Sword, get badges made and put them on there.

pork sword huh.....has a nice ring to it.
The reason I want custom badge names is because I want the car to be unrecognizable, or at least very hard to recognize... But I don't plan on putting the name badges on there until it is close to done. It's just that I am ordering the Race Till Dawn badges soon and want to do it as one order.
But no, I'm not planning on registering it as a kit car... Or at least I haven't looked into that option.
I don't want to disrespect Chevrolet by just calling the car something of my own, but at a certain point, it will be more my own than Chevrolet's design... This may not be the car for it, but I'll use the tags on whatever car I get that far with.
So, no serious ideas? And nobody named their own car?
Thanks for the feedback on 'Excelsior' John,

my friend and i changed the lettering where it used to say "Accord" to "ass-shredder GT" on his 1986 Accord
gotta give it up for pork sword, thats awesome how didnt see this thread sooner. he could always call it the cock hound ss-gt-typeR
wishng there was an edit button. post some pic of the car i wouldnt go as far as to name the car and put it on a badge. but you could nickname the car and airbursh it on the trunk in one of the lower corners.
what about invasion?...i like it
My car named itself after it started itself up and drove into a wall
"Christine" after the Steven King movie...
My old cars were easy too... the "Bottle Fed Zed" was running nitrous (and I'm in Canada).. and the "Zex Machine" was named by someone else on here...
Sometimes it just comes on its own...
oh i got it, give it an ice cream truck p.a. system and one of those songs. then he could call it the child snatcher, but then would have to sell it to Joel Valladares. it would be the perfect ride for him
Johnny V.
but with the roman numeral 5.

I do like this idea... Maybe I don't have to order badges for it... But, like I said, the pictures are completely irrelevant. I wouldn't be putting the name badges on until I felt the car didn't look much like a Cavalier, or I found another car to do that to. General theme should be the same for that car if so... But... If you want to see the car, I can save you time and tell you I haven't done much at all to the car yet, and the outside is just stock black. There are pictures in my profile... Of a stock car.
Kevin, I like invasion too, but I want some kind of name that isn't regularly understood... A lot of people don't know what Cavalier means... Just as Camaro (According to Otis) means untouchable... And Tiburon means shark.
John, I do like the idea of it coming on it's own, and your's are funny... Just probably not going to happen for me.
The whole reason for me wanting to change the name of the car is about 8 or 9 years ago, I saw a Toyota Celica GT with a full body kit on it... If I remember, it had fenders, hood, and all. I didn't even recognize it until I saw Celica on the back and I want to create the same effect, minus figuring out what it actually is unless they ask.
The more I think about it, the more I agree that the Cavalier is the wrong application for this... As well as thinking more radically about what my dream show car would look like, and I realize the name doesn't have to be on the back at all, and wouldn't be in badges.
That being said, is putting my race team's name on it somewhere cheesy? (most likely not in the back). I don't really like window stickers as they attract the wrong attention, block some vision, etc...

My 02 was given the name of PDT a while ago. it stuck and I even put it on the rear quarter windows.
A local radio jock has a cavy and he calls it the Cavilac..... Maybe cause he put a Northstar engine in it but I highly doubt it lol
