I have a 2003 Cavalier and I am wanting to change the tailights to the 2002 and earlier style. does anyone have this info and maybe some pics. thank you. This is going to be the first step in transforming my cavi.
whats needed for the swap
10mm socket and ratchet. there is no wiring envolved with any of the ( Us market) tails.. the toyota tails would need a little bit of wiring. other then that everything else is a straight bolt on.
you choice of cavalier tails light.
A: 95-99 tails
B: 00-02 tails
C: 95-99 toyota cavalier tails
D: 00-01? toyota tails
E: aftermarket tails.
three different ways of using trunk lids
1: have the holes from your 03 trunk lid welded shut
2: buy the rk sport cf sport trunk filler to cover the left over holes on the 03 trunk lid
3: or get a 05-02 trunk lid from any cavalier coupe or sedan
Here is pics of mine.
I used 00-02 taillights, a pre-03 trunklid, and a 00-02 Z/24-LS Sport spolier.
I didnt have to do any wiring at all, just plug and play.
In the 2nd pic the trunk is just dirty.
just dirty is an understatement.....I was touching my monitor trying to write wash me on the back of your ride....
the op, your other option is to pick up the RK sport CF filler panel. Lots of people have gone that route too, but if you find a trunk off a z, with the nice spoiler from 00-02.....hellz yeah.

yeah, you got it easy. You can find a silver 00-02 trunk lid, Luckily I was able to find a 95-02 arrival blue already painted..SCORE......!!!
