Who or what company has a cf filler bezel for the trunk for the 03-05 cavs so you can install the Yota tails? i think 180 bux for a glorified sticker is outrageous...and i really dont wanna go through the trouble of finding or painting an earlier year trunk lid...would there be any other options as well besides the cf bezel?
I had no problem getting an older trunk lid and getting it painted. Or you could get a 95-02 CF trunk lid.
finding them isnt the problem... really its just cheaper to get the 180 dollar bezel....didnt know if anyone had it cheaper than carcustoms.net
The cheapest would be to find a good trunk in the junkyard that already matches the color of your car, but good luck.
Actually for just the trunk lid and paint, it cost me $180. It just depends on the look you're trying to go for. I could have gotten the CF bezel, but i doubt you would see it on black.
i have a white cavy....thinking about just painting the bezel when i get it possibly...im really not into the cf look honestly...just my taste i guess...thanks tho
BTW anywhere else other than rksport and carcustoms to get that bezel cheaper
^probably not. try ebay everyday for about 3 months. u might find one on there!

simple minds talk about other people.
average minds talk about events.
great minds discuss ideas
the rk sport bezel is not a
sticker. its an actual piece of carbon fiber. the quality is outstanding.
the cheapest place you will find rk sport products is carcustoms.net. the business is in California, where RKS resides as well. shipping does not cost karo much if anything at all. he passes that deal on to the customer, any other place that sells rk sport products, namely APLUS performance has to charge shipping costs or they will lose their asses and not make a single cent.

In the end, we're all just chalk lines on the concrete.. drawn only to be washed away.
^^^ I agree with everything you just said except that the quality is outstanding..... I'd call it average at best
Mikee P...yea im gonna have to give you a call......its been too long

oh.. well i havent got mine on a car yet so i guess
that part of it i dont know much about, but as far as the quality of looks and the way it was made is outstanding. looks just as good if not better then my VIS hood. you wanna talk about average CF quality.. you know.. you had a JSP trunk lid.

i think its more the fact that there is no such thing as outstanding quality c/f parts for j-bodies. what we may consider quality is just average if it was for another car.

SO EVERYTHING!
I've had a VIS hood, a JSP hood, a JSP trunk, and the RKSport filler panel, the CF front emblems from A+, and some interior cf pieces from that @!#$ idiot who was making them a while back.
Noone of them had quality worth bragging about, the JSP trunk was the worst of the bunch, the hood isn't to bad, the VIS hood was alot nicer but thats not saying much, neither fit right, they both had big fender to hood gaps, neither one matches the contour of stock fenders correctly although the VIS was closer. The filler panel had a nice weave (it better, there nothing to it) but the outer 2 pieces were junk, the cuts aren't straight and smooth, the contour doesn't match the body, they aren't quite the right length to fit how they are supposed to. The front bow ties were crap, there was no coating on them, they oxidized and looked like @!#$ in no time, they were made completely flat instead of shaped liek the piece they are supposed to attach to. I had to leave mine sit on the dash in the middle of summer with the windows up, it go hot and started to curl up and then you could stick it on while it was flexible. Those carbon fiber interior pieces... I'm not even gonna get into that crap.
I tend to be picker then most, the vast majority would most likely be happy with any of the products. I found most of the CF parts to be "good enough" but all of them a far cry from outstanding IMO.
I just went digging through PM's form a coupe years back and the guy was Blue Cav Customs. It's been a long time but I got the sunroof switch bezel and the the dimmer switch piece to start with. When I got it looked like a downs syndrome 1st graded had tried to cut shapes out of a large sheet of carbon fiber using safety scissors. All these bezels were just a thin layer carbon fiber, no backing, no adhesive, no anything, just thin carbon fiber while horribly uneven wavy cuts around the edges and the opening. This is the only part I specifically remember, I told the guy about the @!#$ty quality and he sends me a message back saying "I knew I shouldn't have sold to you in the first place" and went on to tell me that hes read my other posts and he knew selling to me was gonna be a problem because I expect to much quality from parts. Basically he said his @!#$ sucks and he didn't think pawning off his crap on me was gonna work in the first place.
lolz....I remember seeing those floating around......
never saw one in person.
HOW DARE YOU DEMAND QUALITY FROM THE PARTS YOU BUY!!!!!
definitely understand the gripes about those two stupid cf 'fillers' for the outter tails. but the thing is... i KNOW they are junk, thats why im using sunfire sedan outters, they are the same size as the 03-05 outters and match perfectly size for size to the rk cf bezel.
the bezel itself is what im calling outstanding, not the outter trimming pieces which ive hated since i first laid eyes on em.
my vis hood is just as you said, the fender to hood gaps are bad, BUT, notch the fender bolts and suck the top in the 1/8th inch its off. problem solved, i just havent gotten around to doing it.

In the end, we're all just chalk lines on the concrete.. drawn only to be washed away.
could always go get a 4door sunfire trunk bezel its more sleek than the 03+cav bezel and you can pick one up from the jnk yrd for $20

thats all fine and great but its still the bezel itself IS all 3 pieces. its only sold as a 3 piece part and you can't get any of the parts individually. The main center section wasn't bad at all but the hole for the keyhole left a little to be desired.
IMO the bezel is just the piece that goes on the trunk lid. as far as im concerned the 'trims' can be burned.
i noticed on vince's car that his bezel stuck out like an 1/8th of an inch in the center, is that because of the keyhole part your talking about or because his tape wasn't sticking anymore?

I guess I got lucky with my bezel cuz it fits really good, even the trim pieces.
how can you think the trim pieces fit well? they are completely off. they do not line up with the bezel by what looks like at least an 1/8th of an inch. plus there is a gap on the quarter panel where you can see the trim ends.
IDK, they are really cheesy IMO.

I understand, but IMO there isn't enough flaws in these to not use them unless they are extremely @!#$ up which mine aren't.
Anyone got any pics how it looks with the SunFire outers? I'm wondering how that looks...
