unless there is a big difference in style of balt drift vs cav drift, then it just sounds like a whole lot of work for minimal savings.

It is not a good idea. The process you described is a complete hack job. Sell the cobalt bumper to a cobalt guy and buy a cavalier drift bumper.
I have a drift for sale! Hell take the blitz too! You can swap them out at will. Definatly not worth the work you are about to put into it, you can purchase one that already fits.

yeah i got the cobalt kit and have been trying to sell it for the past 6 months and no takers and i i want is 400 the kit cost 850 new and has never been installed but some body work was started on the front bumper anyway thanks for all the info.
