Hello to all! I have a '95 Sunfire 2.2, 3T40(3 spd. auto) tranny, 112k miles. Couple issues with the sunfire have been needing attention for a while, and I need some advice on them, as they may be related to one another. One problem is that whenever I go over a speedbump, I hear a loud "crunching" sound coming from the front of the car. I thought possibly shocks/springs/loose strut mount? How might I check these things? The other problem is that when I put the car into Drive, it "bangs" into gear, and then when I take off from either a complete stop or a slow roll (5mph or less), I hear a "clunk" sound, sometimes 3 clunks in rapid succession. The car only clunks when going forward, never in reverse. I replaced the upper motor mount, and there is no play in the front wheels, if that helps at all. These 2 problems both happened around the same time. If anyone has any advice, please let me know. I'm a bit stumped on this one. Thanks in advance!
I can't type in cursive!

The crunch sounds like the suspesion, take a peek under the car and make sure nothing is loose if you haven't already. The transmission engaging harshly into drive may be casue by a valvetrain issue (pressure to high, sticking valve) or a pcm programming issue. The clunk during takeoff may be a transmission mount, when you hit the gas it lifts the tranmission up and down causing it to clunk.
