working on my 96 cavy 2.2 car. when i got the car i replaced the head gasket and got it back running. bought the car this way. car had a miss to it and i searched it out. 1 & 4 wires were flipped on coils giving wrong fire order. obviously this helped. new plugs, even better. car was running and drivng fine now. been okay for about a week and now suddenly at a stop sign, car lost a lot of power. further checkng shows plug 1 & 4 not sparking .... 2 & 3 still spark fine. So, i figured.....what the hell, new coil on 1 & 4......no fix. i also installed new plug wires too. now, just for giggles to prove not having a bad new coil put on it, i too the 2/3 coil and put it on the 1/4 spot on the ignition module..... now the coil put in the 1/4 spot won't spark either....so, this tells me i am not geting signal from either the ignition module or PCm to tell the 1/4 coil spot to do anything.
am i correct in thinking the crank sensor or cam sensor isn't culprit here since i am getting spark on 2/3 just fine???
my thought is ignition module first....opinion??
