check your fuse first, wiring to horn.etc.
2000 Cavalier Sedan.
Check your fuse like he said, then just do what I did, buy a new one! They arent too expensive. Mine got water in it and you could hear it click over, but no sound, then it sounded like it had tiny man syndrome when I hit the horn. In other words, it was a real faint noise. So I got another from a used cavalier, was 5 bux.

But why would it be so easy to push i will try the fuse which one is it

Im not sure what you mean by "easy to push" horns arent supposed to be hard to push are they? I dunno, the only way to find out is to tear in there and take a look. Now I cant help you with instructions on how to pop off the steering wheel cover ( I guess thats what it is called?) so you can check it out. That

Sorry I didnt post before, but get beside your horn and have someone try to hit it. Listen for a weak sound like it is trying to work, if so, then you have the same problem I had. And you will have to replace your horn. The horn is located under the passenger side front bumper right in front of the wheel.

I have never tore into the steering wheel before, I would SUPPOSE that it would be 2 metal pieces connecting together to allow current to pass so the horn would operate. Anyone else??? Oh, and are you hearing a "clicking" sound when you hit the horn? Like it is getting current through the contact at the steering wheel, but no sound is coming from your horn.

^ Listen for that clicking. The relay for the horn is taped to the steering column harness under the dash. If you can hear the clicking, then the button, fuse and relay are good... it's either the wiring from the relay forward to the horn itself, or the horn that is bad.
The relay may sound like it's working but may not be. Swap out one of your other known good relays and try. I was getting the "click" but no electrical flow. Before I found the prob I bought 2 horns from the JY, paid 10 bux.
The horn button is a little wierd. There is a circular metal piece behind the airbag. The contact is a little pin that contacts that ring. Where ever the steering wheel is it will still make contact. Unless you have replaced something in the steering wheel or column it is not likely to be the switch.

Hi. I'm having the same problem and just writing to check if I understood. I hear the 'click', so my problem is not the relay or the fuse, and I have to check the horn itself, right?
alexis, yes, it is more than likely your horn that is faulty
