Blower Motor..
Monday, September 29, 2008 11:34 AM
Hey guys, I think somethings up with my fan. First of all speeds 1 and 2 on the HVAC dont work, but I know what the problem is there. Second is the big one; whenever the fans on a loud rattling noise comes from under the glovebox. The rattling goes faster or slower depending on whether i have the fan speed at 3 or 4. Its been going on for about a year now, but recently its gotten twice as loud and its driving me nuts! Help?

Is replacing the fan motor on these cars a pain? Do I need to take the whole dash apart?

your fan motor is failing, pulling excessive amperage thru the resistor, hence only high speeds..

If I believe right it should be very easy to do..

Thanks cavmania, that makes perfect sense. I took a look under my dash to see if the fan motor is easy to get to and lucky for me its literally right there! Does anybody know where I can get a new fan motor/resistor in Canada for cheap? I imagine a dealership would rob me blind. Thanks!
