OK i recently installed a new fuel pump in my car cuase the OE one took a dump and stoped working. I picked up a delphi pump, it cost me $180. It was a lil diff from the OE pump, the strainer was bulit in the pump and not on the out side. Its a new design that makes the pump better or something......Anyway i installed the pump and it went pretty good.....car started first time no problem and was running good.
Three days later i noticed a weird humming noise that got louder when i pressed the brakes or turned on my headlights. The hum even goes with the click of my turn signal! At first i thought it was my alternator, so i had a one of my boys press the brakes and use the turn signal while i was listening under the hood. It was definately not coming from the ALT, i disconnected my amps still made the noise. I decided to get under the car and BAM i heard it coming form the tank. Weird part is the car runs fine, no problems at all.....Any one had a similar issue?? This damn noise is very annoying and i wanna get rid of it....any one that changed their pump had the same problem? It not a high performance pump or anything......BTW i drive a 04 cav 5 speed..
i was thinking that too but i checked them all except for the connection at the pump.....i would have to drop the tank for that....i guess for now ima have to turn the volume up....any other ideas?
